I love ZigBee sensors basically because they can run years with a coin battery, and I don’t dislike WiFi devices that are connected to the power, I just put them in a VLAN with no Internet access.
For me it’s not a problem of the Aqara motion sensor because I’ve paired those 2 sensors in my house and they work without a problem.
I’ve bought a couple of the same rotary button today! 😄 About Esp home, I’ve abandoned building my own staff, there’s not time for everything.
O have some of Aqara windows/doors sensors and I’ve never had any problem. I haven’t changed any battery yet and I’ve installed about 2 yeas ago (or was it 3? 🤔)
The Aqara buttons are very good as well as the motion sensors (even though I’ve just installed a couples at my sister’s and they disappear about a day after I pair them 🤷🏼♂️)
That’s correct, they are pretty cheap too. It’s a shame that they don’t sell anymore the rotary volume control that I use as dimmer
I have multiple Aqara Apple 4/6 buttons. They have 1/2/3/4 push and long press. I really like them
Very cool buttons! Thanks!
Thanks!
Hi, yes, I have a Mosquitto container in another machine.
I’ve mentioned ColoT because I’ve installed the Shelly integration from HASS (sorry, I’ve forgot to mention it, I’ll add it), but even there there are no devices discovered. I’m using it with mcast, I’ll try putting the HA IP. Thanks for the input, I’ll do some tests.
It’s a tagged network. The VLANs are setup in the OPNsense router and since HA is a VM, the VLAN is taken care by Proxmox that presents an untagged NIC to the VM.
is multicast DNS enabled and available in that VLAN?
In OPNsense there is no multicast DNS option to be enabled, but since the Shelly devices and HA are in the same VLAN, the router shouldn’t even come into play.
have you set up the network for HA using the ha network commands?
No, I didn’t, but in the HA in the “Configure network interfaces” section I see the 2 NICs with the 2 correct IPs. Should I do something else?
TL;DR?
Oh, I didn’t know, thanks for the information.
Those seems nice products, but wow, they cost quite a lot!
It seems interesting, although it will cost 95€ with the speaker, but I guess that’s gonna be a definitely better audio than the one of the HA Voice. The disappointing thing is that they don’t sell the enclosure nor provide a 3D design to print your own ☹️
Edit: I’ve just watched the video; this is a public beta (not shipping yet to Europe), they will provide enclosure (specs to print our own to) with speaker and also all the accessories. I’ll keep an eye on the website to check when it will be out of beta and available for Europe. I’m very excited about it!
Thanks
my kid will ask me one day why we say “hey Mycroft” and I’ll tell him “it all started with a raspberry pi and a Kickstarter”
😍
Thanks. Other 2 devices that I’ve bought out of excitement that will keep taking dust :( I’ll try the “voice” and let’s hope that I’ll have time to set it up! 🙈
You’re right! I’ve seen the offer and usually they’re just for the first piece, but for that item there are no limits.
