Hyperbole much? People only ever care once something affects them personally. Do I think the CPC is the better option, probably not. But I won’t reward the same bunch of clowns just cause they put a new face on the party and rolled back some policies in the face of election annihilation. They should have done that before it got to that point instead of talking down to people. Since I can’t vote green in my riding I’m left with little choice.

Tech guy here. There’s no way in hell a new system would be mainframe-based. A distributed queue with delivery receipt and many nodes to process messages along with many distributed read-only DBs is the way to scale this thing. And you can be isolated form local power and connectivity issues. Tech isn’t the problem in this situation, market penetration is.
It’s an interesting proposition but the current areas everyone wants to settle to can’t sustain it anymore. Government needs to start spreading their dollars, and by association people, to other parts of the country which the room for growth. I don’t it will happen.
Just so you know, Canada’s version of the NSA actually hosted NSA staff or provided signal intelligence to US agencies so they could circumvent the “no spying on us citizens” part of many laws.
We do know how to profile people and have done it internally quite well for some time. Our blind spot is more international due to being the US lapdog. But that will change soon enough.

Honest question here, why does everyone get upset over these third party groups but not others? Why is it when unions use member dues to support a candidate or party it’s generally accepted but this particular instance is bad?
Personally I think they all embellish or outright lie no matter which side of the political spectrum they support. The fix is not to complain about specific groups, it’s to ban this type of advertising from anyone other than actual candidates and parties. Make them own their bullshit instead of hiding behind third parties.

That’s never going to happen. Various bands are not getting back land that now host large cities and infrastructure. You can rail against that injustice until your death, which will accomplish nothing, or you can try to find a way forward.
And I say this as someone who believes that Canadian demographics are against you. The white guilt of colonization is quickly diluting into the pool of 2nd and 3rd generation immigrants who feel no guilt and have no connection to this questionable past. At that point nobody will care and your culture will be erased like so many others in the past.
Why is military procurement such a bloody mess in this country. Truly don’t understand. Get something that’s good enough to meet the baseline requirements and then apply a local spending/manufacturing lens. Done.
This need to always purchase the absolute best and not build local manufacturing is a real buzzkill.
Every single social platform has tried to do this and failed. Once a platform reaches critical mass the bits, scammers, etc… move in and start exploiting any “honour” mechanism that might exist.

A clear example of this is the Beer Stores in Ontario that are now closing up shop after their monopoly was ended. These guys had a monopoly and refused to let craft brewers into the store as it competed with their brands. The LCBO started carrying craft beers but you had to buy individuals which was great cause you get a mixer pack of stuff you like and maybe try one or two new beers. Fast forward many years and the business decision to exclude craft beers was their downfall.
Obviously Loblaws won’t go out of business but they need x$/square foot and don’t care how they get it. if US products are only delivering placement fees they will be dropped or moved to the bottom shelf. Things will work themselves out.
