All my life, I’ve watched the US slide. But it’s crazy it’s falling apart right now. Seems surreal for some reason.

I care about Americans and America. There are many good people, who care about me, and us. They deserve to thrive in a secure, prosperous country. I don’t want to discount a nation just because of the idiots.

I’m back again to make another recommendation: This time, it’s for Canadian cloud storage. I’m a bit of a data hoarder, I have lots of music projects and stuff, and I am obsessed with making sure I never lose my data. I saw an ad on Instagram for sync.com so I checked it out. Fair warning: I’ve only been a subscriber for about a month, so my experience with them is limited so far.

But the website interface is nice, maybe a little on the clunky side when moving files around, but it works. They also have a Windows app, which pretty seamlessly integrates your cloud storage on your Windows PC. It sort of works the same as Microsoft OneDrive (which I also have) but it has its own special folder. The software is a little… basic, and maybe even a little buggy, but it seems to work for my use case.

They offer a free account tier with 5 GB of storage or something, which could be useful for sharing a work file with someone, or a photo album, you name it. They have a few different tiers of storage, all the way up to UNLIMITED, which increments automatically in blocks of 10 TB and is VERY EXPENSIVE. I got the 2 TB plan for $82.80 taxes in. I got it 25% off.

But I like it so far, and I thought I would share with you guys to let you know sync.com is legit and is Canadian.

Seems to be a cultural thing. Here in Canada I see mL and L most often for drinks.

One quirk of metric I have taken a liking to recently, is in Japan, apparently they measure their object dimensions in mm. ‘The size of one sheet of Letter paper in mm is 279.4mm x 215.9mm.’ I don’t know why, but for some reason I like this.

I went to the states a couple years back. Went to a tavern and was deciding on a beer. Bartender overhears I’m Canadian and tells me the size of the pints in decilitres 🙄

For what it’s worth, I’m pretty comfortable with FL oz from reading soda cans and stuff. I just find it crazy how unintuitive metric is to some.

I can see that! Evil people in the world like to blame the victim, they want us to turn our focus inward instead of on their bad actions. We see that with corporations as well.

There are lots of good people, but lots of jerks too. I find where I live, it’s really common for people to just be casually… mean to each other? Especially in a work setting. It drives me crazy, I feel like people need to wake up to how we affect each other.

It’s been banned for now, but can we really say for certain it won’t come to pass? Even as a fringe side-project that becomes popular or something? I agree on your points that it would be a motivator, as well as it being abused by those at the top.

I decided over the past while that I really don’t like the smell of Dawn dish soap. I wanted to get something unscented, and I heard that ‘The Unscented Company’ is Canadian. Luckily they have a dish soap of their own, so I bought some recently to try. It works great! Just as well as Dawn. It really is so nice to not have perfumes clinging to certain types of dishware like silicone spatulas, pans etc. Also, Dawn was the WORST for cleaning our air fryer basket. Whenever the air fryer was turned on after cleaning it with Dawn, it would REEK of dish soap and I found it disgusting. Not a problem anymore!

Also, The Unscented Company is a B Corp and women-owned which are also pretty cool causes to support.
