I came across it on a post about why universities are expensive. At first it had all the standard Reddit answers but I used my experience in the university system to provide more accurate answers. My responses started generating responses and then the whole thing was shutdown. I thought they were farming for LLM content and didn’t like the answers. I am definitely less likely to participate now.
So we’ve gotten better at developing vaccines over time and you interpret that as a warning against vaccines. Not smart. COVID killed millions so your claims that it is harmless is not based in reality.

Israel will never tell the truth on any topic

Collins and Murkowski only vote against Trump when they know their vote doesn’t count. It’s all a lie so they can pretend to be moderates.

You just make completely baseless assumptions and then keep on going. Your statements are entirely divorced from reality. Plus you are a massive asshole on top of that.

I’m sure I will overlook the shit show time sink they represent for me to give your experience precedence over mine
That isn’t a gross overreaction at all. You seem like a delight to be around.

You may not like it but Apple’s choices produce performant hardware and their laptops have had better battery life than other HW for what feels like well more than a decade. It could very well be harder to repair but I’ve had a ton of Mac’s and none have required repair.

I’d say he is complicit given how much pleasure he clearly derives from Israel’s genocide.
I didn’t argue for banning plastic bags. Using plastic bags for groceries is better for the environment than reusable bags.

You are inventing a situation to try and make the school look bad. The child specifically asked the school not to tell the parents. The school didn’t invent some standard against the parents to not tell them. The child did. Data establishes quite clearly that revealing information like this to parents is harmful to the child.

Reusable bags take up more resources than using single-use plastic bags. You’d need to use the reusable bag for decades to make up for the additional resources to create that bag compared to single-use bags. Things slant even more towards plastic if you can use the bag more than once, like for a bathroom trash bag.

If we take too much energy from wind it will probably turn out to have negative consequences.

The energy output by a wind turbine has to come from somewhere. It is taking it from the wind.

Good news then, the award does earn interest while under appeal. Trump had to post a bond for the award plus interest accounting for appeal time. I don’t remember exactly how long they prepaid. The award doesn’t include extra for the other stuff though.

The total judgment is like $83 million. This is just part.
Texas, and probably other states, are openly attacking and censoring higher education as well. The provost for a place I was at carried around spreadsheets of costs since overall the university was always losing money. They are in for a tough time if populations get smaller as you say.
Textbooks have more features than they used to, like online homework and the like. The online component makes it easier for companies to push new versions. Professors are overworked, and intro classes, where book prices/versions rule the most, are massive. The dept probably doesn’t have funds for a full TA so grading becomes a massive undertaking. It isn’t possible in many cases to manage lecture halls without the features from the textbook publisher. So what is a young faculty member likely to do? Pick a text from a major publisher. Generally speaking, faculty aren’t out to get you, they are trying to teach you.
There are many costs and processes involved with owning. Not everyone wants to own or is going to be in a place long enough where it makes sense to own. Getting rid of all landlords introduces its own problems.
