Babylon 5 and Farscape

We started buying BR and CDs for our daughter because we found the physical selection more rewarding to her and interactive. With the exception of the PBS app, no way that could all be a collection.

How do you get out of it, especially when it’s seasonal. I’m having the hardest time disconnecting, even on vacation.

We had no direct family help and our little one was the same for 12 weeks. We ended up finding a rhythm of three hour shifts overnight. It tremendously helped that I had paternal leave for 14 weeks, so I really hope you or your partner have something similar. It turned out that she was full of gas because of issues with breastfeeding, so we switched to formula. Couple weeks later she slept through the night like a champ.

A big motto we adopted during the time is: “I got to take care of myself, so I can take care of her”. So alternating sleeping times was the biggest benefit, since sleep deprivation was a hellscape.

I could never hate my daughter (3 y.o). Does it get frustrating that she purposely tests boundaries every second and malicious compliance is her middle name? Sure! However, the unconditional love is the best feeling in itself. Especially days like yesterday when I only saw her for 15 min, due to work, and we cuddled and read bedtime stories.

Not sure how it changes when they get older, but from personal experience growing up, think it’s always important to embrace them for who they are and guide them the best you can. What helps is a lot of personal reflection, because it’s so easy to want to mold them into a specific individual to feel in control when everything around you is falling apart or you got personal trauma that is not addressed properly. However, that’s so counterproductive. You just got to let your kid be themselves.

Not today, but tomorrow (01Jan). Technically a holiday for the company but I wanted to get this run done so I volunteered and let the team have off. Benefit is I’m allowed to shuffle my working holidays to a different day off.

Same shit as with pet screening. I already have to pay a $200 deposit for having a cat, a $30 per month fee for both cats and now $40 per cat per year for pet screening.

I’m assuming you don’t have it on Steam? Works wonderful on my LegionGo running SteamOS. I had it running independently on Linux once but had to do the first login on Windows. That was three years ago, so might have been fixed right now.

Probably not, but only on the principle of I’m trying not to have games on my phone. It does look very interesting, but I feel like it catered to individuals who might never played before.

Sometimes I find stuff that could be more systematic, like moving surecast Arm’s length, and mess up my muscle memory for a while. But I think the general rule should be to make some rules that make intuitive sense to you, and try to follow those. You’ll get it wrong from time to time, either not following a rule, or discovering that the rule was a bad idea.

I took this to heart today and played around with different layouts and found one I loved, in unison with the button chord. Essentially all spells that are being used frequently are now always visible for easy access. The rest are a quick LT to RT or RT to LT away. Thanks! The non essentials are on a separate hot bar and I can switch real quick with the right bumper.

1. I have the left trackpad mapped to trigger common and specially mapped keys (look up Steam Deck Radial Menus). Think; map, chocobo mount, macros. The keys are then set on a hidden hotbar so I can clear space from the screen.

Update on this, I tried it out and loved it. However, could not keep it as how my hand placement is on the Legion Go, I keep accidentally pressing the trackpad and activating mid battle. Can’t change the sensitivity jet, when I do change in SteamOS, nothing changes. Might be worked out in future versions. Great advice though for anyone who has a Steam Deck!
