Right, buying F-35s is worth letting EU citizens starve or die from preventable diseases. Got it.
What a shit take.

Don’t know what’s controversial here
Taking money from social programs to feed the military-industrial complex.
It’s quite clear.
If EU was properly armed, this war would be actually over, with borders restored and invader removed from Ukrainian territory
What kind of argument is this?! Ukraine is not part of the EU.

There’s always room for reasonable disagreement when the issue in question is a word whose definition contains an element of intent and is therefore unfalsifiable.
This sounds to me that you would rather discuss semantics, than spend five minutes trying to actually falsify the term “genocide” when applied to Palestine [0] [1] [2]
These links alone are enough to prove intent from the defence ministry.
It is not. Marine bootcamp has an attrition rate of 15%, see https://thesucklife.com/marine-corps-boot-camp-attrition-rates-and-reasons-behind-them/
For comparison, NYCPD academy has an attrition rate of 15-20%.
It definitely reads like you would give them your business, regardless of the sign.
AI slop is not a valid source.
After graduating from high school, Vance enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a private,[33] serving as a combat correspondent (military journalist) with the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.[34] During his four years of service, he was deployed to Iraq in 2005 for six months in a non-combat role, writing articles and taking photographs.[33] In December 2005, he was part of a group of Marines that held a roundtable discussion with Vice President Dick Cheney.[35] He attained the rank of corporal, and his decorations include the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.[36] In 2007, Vance left the military and used the G. I. Bill[37][38] to study at Ohio State
In short, deployed for 6 months, never saw combat once.

What’s your alternative, then? Just surrender to the status quo and buy Chinese stuff that doesn’t even comply with EU regulations?

They generally are not. I would know, I fly routes to Europe quite often, mostly business. Cheapest ones almost always involve transiting through major hubs, e.g. Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, NYC. In fact, flying direct from any of these hubs is usually more expensive than flying from a secondary airport and then doing a layover in any of the aforementioned hubs.

A boat?

Seems like you are trying hard to shut everyone who doesn’t like it
No they haven’t.
Chill.

I don’t see why I should pay more just so a European billionaire can get richer, instead of a Chinese one.
Because European jobs are on the line.
I’d rather buy European.

You’re thanking the guy because he spent three minutes searching for the answer you were so clearly sealioning for.
Good job I guess.

Anyone who has spent any significant time in Spain, knows that 9 out of 10 Spaniards think that corruption has skyrocketed under every single prime minister in the past 45 years.
Anyway, I cannot take an “expat newspaper” seriously. We’ve lived through worse times than this. We had a major party involved in a kickback scheme, including their leader at the time (“M. Rajoy”, anyone?) like 15 years ago. In the early 2000s, the largest telecom company in Spain was sold for pennies by a close friend of the prime minister.
… there is something deeply and personally disturbing to me about people who identify strongly with it
As opposed to those who call themselves gamers or trekkies?
Sure.
Maybe you just don’t get it? Or maybe you’re trying to look for differences where there really aren’t any, in order to belittle pastimes you don’t personally like.
Because, unless you’re terminally online, you must be familiar with the fact that millions of people just enjoy watching football, and follow teams and players, sometimes regardless of their performance on the pitch. It’s a social and cultural phenomenon.
But anyway, just so you know, shitting on football fans stopped being edgy circa 2010, around the same time fedoras went out of fashion.
The problem I have with Messi t-shirts, and all that shit, is I don’t know why people want to identify with Messi other than “He is the BEST.”
You wrote a long message explaining the why, yet you aren’t able to connect the final dots.
People wearing Queen t-shirts may also think that they are the “best”. People playing Minecraft may think too that it is the “best”. They enjoy listening to Queen, playing Minecraft, and watching Messi, and precisely because of that, they may think these are all the “best”.
Maybe the issue here is that you either don’t enjoy football, or don’t like Messi as a player?

I’m not reading this ridiculous wall of text
A bit disrespectful since I did read what you wrote, but alright, suit yourself.
Ukraine already receives military aid from EU countries.
There’s no reason whatsoever for the EU to engage in open war with Russia.
