Reddit refugee chilling on kbin.
Working on:

https://github.com/daniel-lxs/kbin-link
This is my first time feeling part of an online community, it’s amazing!
I noticed the slowness when using the api, sometimes it wouldn’t even respond, thank you
I made something like this https://github.com/driccio98/BotIt.
This one just fetches posts from subreddits, something like that would probably need API access, and as we know, reddit will start charging for it.
It might be a good idea to just port those bots (when doable) and make them post on Lemmy/kbin as well
No problem! let me know if you have any questions or find any bugs
Yup, I made it so it would only post links. In my opinion is not a good idea to let the bot take every post it finds.
Also it currently only posts 1 post at a time on each fetch so as to not flood the magazine and let users post by themselves.
It does it automatically!, it won’t post anything that isn’t a link

If you want to crosspost content from reddit automatically use: https://github.com/driccio98/BotIt,
It’s intended for links and I wouldn’t encourage using it for anything else cause you know, stealing content from others is not good.
But if you need a link aggregator for your community this might do it.
Replace them with whom exactly? I’m sure that bringing people that want to mod in these conditions is a nice idea, I’m sure they’ll worry about the users and won’t powertrip at all
I literally just made this yesterday
So it can confuse buyers, and they buy a lower generation for a higher price
Oh you’re a reddit mod? Name every subreddit (please don’t)
Click it multiple times and it should change to subscribed
To me both lemmy and kbin got a very important push, it showed the potential of the fediverse to sustain communities.
The dip in activity is something expected, the platform is still in its infancy and will get more refined with time, eventually being able to retain non tech-savvy users.
I do have to give it to the moderators, they made this asshole show his true colors. There’s no going back to Reddit now.
Any grouping of communities/magazines should happen client-side only. So that people can choose what to group.
I hope these people stay there, I like the community that moved to Lemmy/kbin as they are friendly and chill.
