I am not getting this at all. Is KDE going the corpo route or are they talking about local, foss and open weights model, which people can run on their own and do things from them out of their own choice? Please can someone tell me what’s going on.

Now a person might say “why can’t the damn phone companies just give us a gimmie phone with advanced security features we want?!” Well such a thing is possible but it would be a money loser from the drawing board and wouldn’t fit easily into the rubric of phone sales and tie up a shit ton of resources and time.

My problem with Ubuntu is the way snaps are so closely tied to the distro. If they were optional, I would have just stuck with it. But I also like Mint anyway. It’s just good.
