I pulled some data off some old Samsung 1TB SSDs that werent powered for 3-4 years without an issue either. I guess they were SLC based on what others are saying.
I guess it’s a your mileage may vary situation depending on the exact drive you purchase and probably other factors too.

It could be reasonably innocent. Eg. A student doing a study Lemmy and wants to see where the user base is roughly located. Since Lemmy has many privacy focused people on the platform, I doubt they would get many responses on a survey.

Quite clearly Mark demonstrated that the safety systems are engaged in what ever mode he had it in; otherwise the vehicle would never stop for the obstacle in front of it.
I call that negative karma. Low karma is 0-200. 200 because that is a limit that at least some subs would use to limit new accounts from posting.
I’d argue that low karma accounts tend to be new people or lurkers.
I’ve thought about turning my entire rear window into a mirror, but I imagine there is a law against it, so I haven’t looked into it.

Me too. I still use Reddit via the website. I think Reddit is also in a negative place at the moment too. It seems that most things I see these days are negatively voted, or Reddit’s algorithm has changed and it mostly shows me negatively voted content in my feed.
I disagree with your statement about not seeing this type of behaviour on Reddit and it appearing civil and intellectual comparison.
I think voting should be as what was originally set out by Reddit; I don’t know if it’s still in their guidelines. The voting system indicates the relevancy of the contribution and whether it adds to the discussion or not. Spam and off-topic contributions gets shoved to the bottom and everything else rises to the top.
Obviously most people on Reddit these days use it as a like/dislike, agree/disagree voting system as well.
Does Lemmy instance owners and community mods ban people for having a different opinion that’s so benign?
Some Reddit mods attempt to be authoritative and ban people who hold different opinions to themselves. I know I have and I stay out of subs that relate to politics, the news, and anything divisive really.
I’ve been curious about going alone on the Fedi but I’ve always been concerned about data storage. How much drive space do you think is required? I presume it accumulates over time.

Unfortunately people don’t see voting systems as a method to highlight the relavency of a contribution. They see it as a like/dislike system, and so I see as shut up signal used by most because downvoting a contribution buries it to the bottom where few people will see it.
If it was used for relevancy and quaility then communities would be self regulating by the users. I believe Reddit’s guidelines state(s/d) it’s voting system was meant to be for relevancy, even though most people use it as a like/dislike system.
Like most people in the western world (and indeed likely in most of the world) do.

Eradicating personal vehicles is not feasible.
Not owning a personal vehicle is only okay if you live in the heart of a city and don’t go outside of that little bubble. All other scenarios massively benefit from a personal vehicle; even going from one side of a city to another.
Killed it, as in they were awesome and won, or as in unalived. The quote by itself could mean either.
