  • Then you don’t understand how all of this works. Please look at every successful “violent revolution” in recorded history. It never starts the way you want to it to. The support for corroding elements need to erode first.

You’re jumping at the bit, but hey, if you want to go kill somebody, think about what ammo you’re giving them first. Martial Law, a “reason” to destroy the constitution, and a “reason” to prove some bullshit reason that fascists do fascist things.

Stop jerking off on the internet to your violent fantasies and think about a fucking real world likelihood that your dumbass actions will have.

Some dickhead talking big on Lemmy isn’t going to do shit by murdering a senator or Stephen Miller. You’re just going to give them a reason to escalate.

  • There’s contact info right there. There’s also the GitHub pages to report back to the actual project.

ProtonDB is more about people finding fixes to problems. If you haven’t tried all combinations of stuff, it’s probably not worth registering a bug in GitHub because the project is more about generalized compatibility versus specific games. It’s an open source project, so not based on specific games or game engines.

Maybe work through all the different proton engines first and get back to a working version before registering a complaint. Meaning: don’t run on the bleeding edge, go back a few versions to when it worked for you.

  • If you want to get real about it, the short answer: it’s too early.

If you look at every successful ousting of a corrupting party in modern history, it never starts with pitchforks or guns this early. Start too early, and they have a reason to suspend the laws in effect that are slowing them down. In essence, if one of them gets killed, thousands of US citizens are killed, or worse, just to prove a point.

Second, you have to allow them time to erode any popular support they may have. As noted above, going too hard too early gives them a chance to pull a Hitler and do a “SEEEE??? WE NEED TO STOP THEM ALL!!! I WAS RIGHT!”. Not the best place to start when something like 30% of the population may be diehard (literally) supporters. Shit will go south for everyone super fast.

Lastly, every element in this group is already doing the hard part for the rest of us: proving they are absolutely incapable of running a country. The more that people see this and come to understand and detach from that alignment is a good thing.

The bad part of all it: it takes time. Just making a dramatic point isn’t going to change minds. Allowing these woefully incapable and idiotic pieces of shit to ruin an entire country’s lives may unfortunately be what it’s going to take before the military folks step away from them, their supporters, businesses, and as much as I fucking hate to say it, his billionaire buddies who all belong in prison right now. They all need to detach from that teat first before any meaningful and drastic movements can be made.

  • Presidential immunity doesn’t extend to every other person acting at the direction of the President. In fact, it extends to nobody. It may not even work if prosecuted, because that’s not what SCOTUS actually said. They only said that president couldn’t essentially be held liable for presidential actions, and then didn’t clarify exactly what those were. They intentionally didn’t specifically make a list of this actions, which depending on your viewpoint, means it’s everything, or nothing.
