Democracies are only as functional as their courts. I think the US court system has been failing its people in a lot of ways, for some time now.

China’s getting a bit aggressive though atm. Not as bas as the US, but still not exactly ‘free’ for the countries involved.
Man, it would be really cool if we could just take them at their word. Unfortunately that’s not the world we live in.
By my understanding, 4chan left themselves vulnerable which, given the circles they foster, means they were going to be compromised. No fear of reprisal or consequence for it either. Not like when attacking a major corporation or government.
Add “liberal” or even “critical of the president” to that.
They are dispossessed enough to be swept up by it.
“We can’t do anything about it because he’s in another country. Ok, so here’s how we’re going to take Ukraine’s minerals…”
I understand the reluctance. If they had to change platforms every time there was a controversy they’d end up on a platform with no followers left by the end of it. In this case it is merited though.
Fuck Nazis. Fuck Elon Musk.
I agree, we’re facilitating interprovincial trade, we have many allies in a similar position with which we can strike new deals. The US is looking to cause some damage though.
It might be, we don’t know all the details yet (they called it an irritant) but so far all these global tariffs have disproportionally hurt Canada more than other countries. I can see the US smoothing things over with others but keeping this as a point of contention with Canada.
But if it is the last barrier to reaching an agreement, how long will the rest of Canada support Quebec? This is being done to test our confederacy.
Edit: Not supporting Trump, just being realistic about his intentions.
Trump is using this to cause a crisis in Canada. Quebec objects, the ROC 1) may grow impatient with an agreement not being made. 2) IF the ROC rallies behind Quebec, the US will use it forever to justify tariffs.
Dirty tactics.
They have at different points in history. Maybe we’re due.
Google funds Mozilla quite a bit. It would be good to decouple them but that would require a major change to how they are funded.
Also, why do they get to talk like that when they’re threatening their owm neighbours and former allies.
Yes!
I feel it comes down to money as always. The modern world works on markets, not nationalism.
It’s why these ideas get floated around without consequence. Business just ignores the ideas it till it impacts the bottom line. Then they make whatever changes are best for them, very seldom are the changes made for principles or morals.
The US knows this. They attack Canada without declaring war to convince businesses to invest in the US instead of Canada. It works for the most part, tragically.
“Everybody hated the Nazis but not enough had a problem doing business with them though.”
Edit: Canada will be alright. We’re bringing down interprovincial trade batriers. It’ll help gets projects done all across the country. Out word is gold as well. We keep our promises, unlike the US who don’t realise how destructive breaking all their agreements really is. It makes sense to invest in Canada. We just have to show that to the rest of the world.
I hate the ones that say “Claps back at…”
He’s “written” more books than he’s read.
