hi, young person here. stuff my ‘techie’ friends talk about are at best the latest apple iphone/macbook or LLM stuff which is quite boring. honestly there’s nothing interesting in tech these days so that’s probably why.

to me those 3 all seems like valid problems still.
obesity may be solved in a few decades but is still ongoing.
overpopulation in india etc is still a big issue combined with poverty…
a large part of china(mainland) is still suffering in great poverty. places like shanghai/beijing are a very small minority number wise.

llms are able to do a lot of things many people simply can’t (at least without spending a long time learning), although the result can be mediocre. it’s being misused widely, but doesn’t mean it’s entirely incapable of anything useful.
recently i’ve seen it being used for reverse engineering, seemed like a pretty good usecase.

i usually connect two machines with tailscale and use ssh forwarding
use autossh if you want auto reconnect after ssh disconnects with broken pipe

nah, even 4chan is actually heavily moderated

homemade gochujang? man that’s awesome

for profit prisons
TIL, wtf

i’m actually still using ‘Telegram FOSS’ lol. i installed it years ago, it still seems to work so i have no reason to switch.
have ‘Telegram X’ on my other phone and it’s pretty neat, but it doesn’t handle groups with multiple channels inside.

for some reason there’s so many sketchy telegram clients. nekogram which was once on f-droid was also found including some malware/backdoor shits.

this app called ‘aurora store’ which is a foss playstore client

yep, i used to use this behind a cgnat. being a broke kid i couldn’t have another machine with exposed ports proxy things
i think you subscribe to the wrong comms. i hardly see any reddit reposts.

slackware also has 32bit btw :)
btw sloppy focus is also available on m$ windows. they call it x-mouse,you can enable manually thru registry or use a feature in some freeware called winaero tweaker

i think modern browsers (at least firefox) doesn’t keep background tabs all active in memory. my friend has like 200 tabs but memory usage isn’t that huge.
in m$win/kde-style-env: two row taskbar, titles always visible (like on win2k/kde3)
also sloppy focus and autoraise for mouse. extremely useful when you use many windows.

sorry that definitely didn’t happened to you op! /jk
honestly tbh i don’t think MTE is such big deal… but then again i’m not really graphene’s target audience.
yuru camp, it’s like the first anime i literally fell asleep while trying to watch
