Antibiotics are allowed and, unfortunately, used plenty in the EU. Growth hormones on the other hand are banned. As far as I know, those are standard in the US, so farmers can’t simply export surplus production.

Fair enough, rules are rules. The smear campaign to paint him as a power hungry authoritarian is infuriating. This man is one of the greatest leaders our sorry species has come up with and is in general loved by the people, mostly the indigenous population of Bolivia, though.

Read his speech to the UN and it should be obvious why he is often being targeted by international powers.

While it is a good quote and true to some extent, it oversimplifies the situation of the population of Germany during the Nazi regime. It was not indifference that kept people who disagreed with Hitler quiet, it was terror. The Gestapo and SS were the most important factors that allowed Hitler to keep the population in check.

Ask yourself, would you speak up against Nazis in a mostly democratic country we live in today? Without doubt I assume. Would you speak up if it means that the next day uniformed men come knocking at your door and you and your entire family disappears, like it happened to the Schmids 2 Houses down the road?

The main threat is military -like groups who have the authority to quiet dissidents and spread fear.
