I should have been more clear. The post I’m replying to said “what the fuck did THEY think would happen”… which I took to mean the (presumably older establishment) dems that are whining about Hogg’s call for primaries. That’s who I’m talking about.

This is the same Democratic party leadership that ran Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s campaigns. The same Democratic party leadership that cares more about stopping Bernie Sanders than about stopping Donald Trump. They know who’s side they are on, and it’s not the same side as you and me. The Democratic party is unfortunately rotten to the core, and it’s all about the money. Imagine the concept of regulatory capture applied to politicians broadly and you will understand the modern Democratic party and the state of our government. We need a party built from the ground up to represent the working class, whether it be from the ashes of the Democratic party or otherwise. Primary them at every turn or run independent campaigns where feasible. The other challenge is that mainstream media is owned by the same corporate masters, so it will be an uphill battle regardless.
How ironic that the guy who was never elected for anything is whining about democracy. And “corrupt”? Corrupt might as well be Elon’s middle name.
Absolutely shameful. I hope the management at this station and CBS in general get a ton of flak for this. Cowards shouldn’t be in charge of journalists.
If it were the same ratio it would be 70%. 35% is if the death count doubled with zero additional women or children killed.
I think that’s a great way to look at it. I’m hoping we can get some better leadership in the democratic party willing to listen to people and offer fresh ideas instead of taking the “if you don’t vote for me then you’re hitler” approach.
Leaning to the right didn’t work for Harris. We need someone to energize the base by offering meaningful change.
Good analysis. You also should understand that Americans are HEAVILY propagandized, since most of our major media outlets are also captured by the same corporate interests that bribe our politicians. Critiques of capitalism are de facto not allowed, because that would be bad for business. (Not to mention the previous decades of cold war era “red scare” nonsense the older generations grew up with) As a result, many democrats don’t know how to receive criticism from the left, and can’t even conceive that there might be a different path besides “status quo” and “conservative hellscape”.
I think everyone who is being intellectually honest knows full well that Trump would be worse. The problem seems to be that the Democratic party has decided it can take the votes of the left wing of its party for granted. If the left is not willing to actually follow through and withhold their votes, then the Democrats know that they never have to appease them. It’s really a lose-lose situation until the Harris campaign shows some moral courage or takes seriously the possibility of losing votes over this issue.
Thanks for clarifying, I had a feeling the context might be something like that.
Your mistake is in framing landlord as a job.
Fascinated to learn more about that, if you have any good resources. That’s not the typical framing we get in our US high school level interpretation of events.
It’s easy to understand when you realize that the system they benefit from (capitalism) relies on the fear of poverty / homelessness to keep people working long hour and low wage jobs, without time or financial stability to organize and make demands of their employer or government. People are far easier to exploit when they are desperate and living hand to mouth.
Same audience as the celebrities singing during the Coronavirus lockdowns maybe.
Does weird performative shit poll well with mainstream Democrats or something?
Also bizarre how they re-used the footage “I never spoke to so many Presidents all at one time” at 0:00 and 3:38
I think you mean liberals
I hope Missouri taxpayers like their state government spending their hard earned tax dollars on lawsuits for blatantly unconstitutional laws. Who needs infrastructure, or literally anything tangible when you can just spend more money on losing? Absolutely pathetic.
It’s the main qualification, aside from being an ass-kisser.
