How do you usually learn stuff? You could find a book on the topic and read it. Theory can’t fully replace practical experience, but it can carry you at least some of the way. Or if you’re more hands-on, you try stuff out, see how well it works (or doesn’t), and then use Google to figure out what you did wrong.

Many people have written off flirting / approaching in person entirely because of this.
Giving up before even trying does not sound like a winning strategy.
The funny thing about men is that most of them are terrible at flirting, but it never bothers them enough to get off their asses and figure out how it works.
It’s not magic, it’s a skill like everything else.

Europe@feddit.org•Politico Owner Axel Springer Gives Prize to Far Right Billionaire Peter ThielEnglish
4·10 days agoHonestly, nobody cares about some Axel fucking Springer price.
Honestly, the only time local politicians should dabble in foreign politics is when they look at what works in other countries and why.
Other than that, I don’t care about their stance on foreign affairs. I need them to make sure the public pools, parks and libraries get financed, the bike lane gets built and the trains run on time. I’m not expecting the mayor of my city no negotiate peace deals with Russia ffs.

World News@lemmy.world•Trump says he is close to decision on largest-yet attack on IranEnglish
2·12 days agoI hear he was good friends with Jeffrey Epstein, the rapist, sex trafficker and overall piece of shit. One of his closest friends even, as indicated by his inclusion in a book of birthday wishes for Epstein. His name appears in the Epstein files thousands of times. There are dozens of photos showing the two of them together.

Europe@feddit.org•Washington doesn’t want Europe to talk about American tech “kill switch”English
64·13 days agoRemember how they disabled all the online services for the judge from the International Criminal Court because Trump didn’t like her and put her on the sanctions list like a terrorist? Email, gone. Google account, gone. Credit cards, gone. (https://www.theguardian.com/law/2026/feb/18/international-criminal-court-icc-judges-trump-sanctions)
No thanks. We as individual Europeans should depend as little as possible on US services. And our society as a whole should also try to minimize its dependency on US tech. The US government is openly committing war crimes against its enemies already. Why would they hesitate to make use of their tech kill switch if it ever seemed benefitial to them? Trump doesn’t care about promises or contracts, he’ll fuck you over the moment he can benefit from it.
This used to be my personal first world problem, but then I learned to embrace the chaos and stopped caring where the chocolate breaks.
As a non soccer fan, I don’t get it. Why don’t we like Argentina? Don’t they have a pretty strong team?
Do not mistake confessing your feelings with flirting. Those are two entirely different things.

132·19 days agoI liked it, but I found it visually disappointing. No gods except Athena, Sirens boring, Hades boring, Circe boring (except the transformation scene, that was sick).

Destabilizing the very society that your godlike levels of wealth and power are built on seems… kind of stupid, right?

Europe@feddit.org•Fears over foreign influence in France, as Musk backs Le Pen presidential bidEnglish
12·21 days agoFor context: Elon Musk spent almost 300 million Dollars to help Trump win in the US. The largest party in Germany received about 5 million dollars in large donations for the last election. I assume it looks similar in France. This is NOTHING for Musk. If he wants to buy the election, he can - easily.
It’s time for the EU to limit the amount individuals can donate to political causes. And to make any donations from companies illegal. 10k per person, per year. Who has this much money to spare anyway? If you have more money lying around that you don’t need, how about donating to charity instead?

19·26 days agoOkay, some people need to get their definitions straight:
Environmentalists: Capitalism is great, but can we please make sure the bees don’t die?
Leftists: Capitalism is okay I guess, but can we please treat workers fairly and pay living wages?
Not the same group of people!
Bruh, the creepy fascist pedo clown is president of the United States now. I don’t need this in my entertainment.
