id loce to like cosmic, but my daily driver is a tablet like pc and while im not using the touch screen during my daily workflow, but there are some use cases where i need it. cosmic hasnt supported it as good as gnome.

article is hidden behind a paywall, so i can only speak about my experience with a standard ereader.

i love to read and not get distracted by something during that. a regular phone keeps getting me distracted and a e-ink display is way more pleasant to read than a regular screen imo. the main problem i keep running into is that my regular ereader is too big for most pockets which is the reason i dont have it with me most of the time.

soooo such a small reader would let me read at times and places where i would simply dont do anything at best or doomscroll at worst while i could also judt read a good book.

that being said i dont own such a small ereader and wont buy one because keeping two devices synced while reading a book would be either too much hazzle or simply impossible to do.

disagree. while KDE has a Tablet mode it still depends on the device. Gnome with a few Extensions is far superior as a tablet imo. „TouchUp“ and „Gjs OSK“ are needed. With those installed, gnome will feel like a tablet and be easier to navigate than KDE. Especially if you want to switch on the fly between touch navigation and mouse/keyboard

dont know… i love the cyberpunk gameplay. but i accept <60 fps only on the steam deck or similar devices

while. i agree that steam isnt good its still the best digital store out there besides gog. also its hardware doesnt force u to buy games over there and thats a major selling point imo.

yeah, i missunderstood your needs.

citrix works just fine. used it on different distros in the last 2 years. the only issues i had where multiple desktop with different resolutions with gnome. the upper side of the monitors had to align in order to render the citrix desktop correctly. no idea if thats still an issue and if it happens only with gnome.

remmina is a good option for rdp sessions and citrix runs just fine on fedora and debian with official clients.

ipfire is a good alternative to opensense because its simpler to use imo.

as far as i know the ai part from jolla is not integrated into their phones but they sell an ai-pc or something where you can selfhost a llm with.

u could take a look at vanillaos. its an immutable distro based on debian.

Metabo is a german brand that offers good quality for a fair price. they also offer great warranty and support. we damaged our cordless drill twice and they repaired it both times for free under warranty even if it wasnt really their fault. ive got arround 7 cordless tools from them and every single one of them works great.

look at the starlabs starlite mk v instead. the pine hardware is mostly suited for developer.

thx for that write up. seems i didnt understand you correctly the first time (english is not my native language). i already used all pci-slots with sata extensions and a nic. its just a mini atx board with a n100 cpu, so my options are limited. i could mirror the disk to a sata ssd though.

i need to look into duplicati. never heard of it before. i guess best thing noe is to install pbs and look from there. my goal would be to have one copy of my data on site and one in another place.
