  • It’s definitely a slippery slope. I think my main two points are: Anything from the telegraph I’ll read with a very large grain of salt; testing already vulnerable groups isn’t a bad thing necessarily, even when done with a poor motive it could lead to a better life for the child. Also, It could help medicate individuals better, especially if they need a separate hormone medicine plus ADHD medication for example.


  • Can’t read the article as paywalled. But I assume it’s a load of BS. Telegraph is really terrible.

    Also, generally the tests for autism and ADHD are filling in a questionnaire and a conversation for an hour or so; not exactly electroshock therapy. I wish I had gotten diagnosed as a child, but they only looked at underperforming children then, it really doesn’t seem as bad as the headline is making out.

    So I was going to fact check myself before I responded. But I thought it’d be more interesting to be wrong on what I think I know.

    Faulkands were never occupied by Argentina. They were claimed for France and then removed by the British. It’s been British ever since and I think the few occupants want to remain British.
