My Blog, if you’re into Lisp, Emacs, a tiny bit of politics, and building a better web.

A lot of images ingested while training AI have been taken without permission. Most obvious is the recent flux of studio ghibli style art, which openAI has admitted to using without permission.
No, many people believe that chatgpt is intelligent in the way humans are
I think you should try talking a bit before asking for someone’s number, at least.
Don’t actually be creepy, but you can never control how people feel about something. Something that’s completely fine to someone one day might be the tipping point on some other day.
If you hit on someone just based on looks they might not take it nicely because they might be getting a lot of that!
Gnome web blocks ads, and getting an adblocking extension on Firefox forks is super easy
The existing models were all trained on stolen art
I’m on LinkedIn to source fodder for !linkedinlunatics@sh.itjust.works and I saw like 4 a day
Madison wasn’t a given name before the movie
I could get it done tomorrow
I like Erin’s writing but it sucks that she uses nazi-filled substack
If you want to be called trans as a non-binary person, that’s perfectly fine
Everyone here has said the right things already so I’ll say: I’m sorry you had to sit next to someone like that :(
My partner’s sick, so it’s not been great
So does this person do any work except for flipping the paper?
Wait what, they spent actual money on this illegal pettiness
Proud of y’all for giving it up :)

TIL people call Arugula rocket
And people think it’s the fault of the poor that they don’t have enough :)
Israel just bombed Palestine and killed 400 people, violating the ceasefire. People will still talk about Oct 7, as brown peoples’ lives don’t matter.
I think you’ll find it is called stealing to copy something without permission, and copyright infringement can deprive the originator, like if someone copied the lyrics of a song someone else released 2 days back without credit. Modern copyright law is widely abused but that doesn’t change the fact that taking art without permission is stealing, no matter what your personal definition is.
The stealing in the studio ghibli case is ingesting all of the studio ghibli art without paying them for it, and while outputting, clearly labeling it as studio ghibli style.
