  • I always put stuff in the same spot so I don’t have to look for it or think about where it is. Everything in my wallet has a place, everything in my pockets always goes in the same pockets, my work ID goes in the same place when not in use, my sunglasses have a spot on the counter at home, and on and on. Greatly simplifies things and reduces stress not having to think about where stuff is or might be.

  • The thread started out talking about citizenship through great grandparents, which to me sounded a whole lot like claiming citizenship through jure sanguinis. This is what the two links I posted were about. Then halfway through he started talking about residency, which, sure, probably has different requirements. But he never clarified anything or sought to source any claims, so… hard to talk to people that just hand wave and declare they’re right.

I haven’t looked deeply enough into it to see where cnn sourced their information as I’m not that far into my process yet to need to be concerned about it yet…

As for your link, yeah I don’t see any language requirement either. Is this regarding claiming citizenship through jure sanguinis or through residency?

  • I’m a white American that’s been living in tijuana, Mexico for the last 9.5 years. I drive north to the US to go to work every day and drive south again to go home. The Mexican border police only check maybe 5% of cars that drive from US to Mexico, and when they check me they’ve only ever checked my car registration and/or passport. It’s an extremely open border crossing when going south.

If you wanted to actually be legal, a temporary tourist visa to visit Mexico can be purchased for about 25 usd and allows you to stay for up to 6 months inside Mexico 🤷‍♂️ and when it expires you can buy a new one.
