Hah, mine had the same function. Somehow I managed to hit record while feeding her manually one day, so the call sound became her meowing and the feeder going off. Then, I managed to do that at least two more times. It became this awful recursive meow and feeding sound.

He’s never forgotten to remind you about breakfast. Cause and effect.

I bought an auto feeder to try and decouple myself from my cat’s food. Now she just screams at me right before it goes off and still thinks I magically trigger it.

  • This pretty well encapsulates my feelings, except for the issue of training the models. AI is cool tech, but the fact remains that people are making money off of scraped content. Not to mention the environmental aspect.

Honestly I find it difficult to reconcile.

In a perfect world, we would have open source models trained on public domain and properly licensed content.

I don’t think AI is going to replace artists any time soon. On the personal side, people create for the joy of it, whatever that means to them. On the professional side, people have a hard enough time communicating what they want to an actual person, much less a computer.

As someone that likely has moderate aphantasia, I really struggle with describing what I want. Being able to tell an image gen to make so many variations of X, and then commission a friend to take inspiration from Y and Z to make something original is really freeing for both sides, imo.

I’ve never gotten exactly what I’m looking for, but it almost always gives me something to point to, without doing a bunch of test drafts. I suppose that’s technically taking work away from the artist, but so does having an ‘undo’ button in procreate.

Idk, it’s a more complex issue than many make it out to be. I’m still further on the fuck ai side than not, just due to its current implementations.

    End rant.

  • Something that a lot of replies are missing is how quickly and dramatically we change appearance at that age. Imagine if filming runs over a year and the 14-year-old you hired is now a foot taller and the shape of his face changed through puberty. Sure, little kids grow fast, but features don’t change nearly as much, especially for boys in their teens.

I have an ongoing theory that every time you locate what you’re looking for in a Microsoft project, a random number generator determines if it will be moved, and where to

My god all these admin centers and their old and new versions. Four places to do any one thing and maybe one of them has documentation that’s up to date.

There are at least three locations to disable user accounts. Two of them require a setting of “True” and the third one “False”. Drives me mad.

  • Not even per-creation, but the weird system of always paying at the start of the month, instead of just subscribing whenever. It’s stopped me from subbing multiple times because I don’t want to pay double for one week of access.

The singular argument for that system is that it enables creators to pause payments for a month without it fucking up billing for people. I mostly sub to authors, and if they take a month off, the ones not doing the first of the month model have a lot of issues.
