100 percent. There’s too much potential food for a food channel to ever run dry of content. Only personalities and gimmicks run their course.

Joshua Weissman, he used to have some good cooking content but it got too brain rotted for me.

Similarly I almost dropped Binging with Babish, but he started a new channel for his non-BWB content and actually put up a classic-style video recently!

Tommy guns were invented in 1918 and used widely in organized crime in the 20s. I bet that had a lot to do with it.

My thoughts on 2A have evolved a lot over the years, but especially in recent years (hmm I wonder why) I’ve gotten more used to the notion that the “take all the guns away” flavor of anti-2A is actually a pretty privileged take. It’s really easy for me as a straight white male in a good neighborhood to say that no one needs guns, but I’m not very oppressed in the grand scheme of things and I can imagine that a lot of people out there want the right to defend themselves right about now.

To make a good and entertaining show, and because the Gorn were a cool concept that wasn’t especially threatening in 1967 let alone 2026.

(you can like any media for any reason, it doesn’t have to be “good” in any conventional sense or pass any kind of metric or purity test)

I love when people comment “they don’t make music like this anymore” because they most certainly do, and are probably making more of it than any point in history.

Life is just one big, long, futile fight against the ever-increasing entropy of an inevitably doomed universe and the best we can hope for is to carve out some sort of fleeting happiness and meaning in our short lives before they’re over.

It’s actually wild to watch how quickly the mood has been shifting since 2024.

Now, everyone is talking about wealth disparity and all the issues that come with it. Progressive candidates are winning primaries left and right. Democrats are flipping seats at an unprecedented rate. Black voter turnout in the South has been surging since the gutting of the VRA.

In November of 2024 the Democratic party was in shambles. Now, thanks to progressive candidates and voters, they’re actually forming an identity that isn’t just “not Republican.” They’re running on issues that benefit the common people and they’re winning.
