It’s right there in the title “Astrazeneca’s boss has warned Europe is falling behind as it steps up investment in the United States.”

Or they grew up Bri’ish and were force fed it with fish and potatoes.
And yes, USAian hollywood films are just large marketing campaigns propaganda.
Once… I actually can’t come up with a scenario in which they would :/
We will return Fortnite to the US iOS App Store next week.
Epic puts forth a peace proposal: If Apple extends the court’s friction-free, Apple-tax-free framework worldwide, we’ll return Fortnite to the App Store worldwide and drop current and future litigation on the topic.
What does this mean?
And if they were, why does Public Money, Public Code exist?
Because Bluesky is centralised. You went from one serial killer’s house to another. You don’t know which serial killer owns your new house, but you’re hoping they’ll be nicer than the previous one. But at least their house is nearly as nice as the old serial killer’s house.
For example geographical data (cadastral, soil quality, air quality, public transport routes, public transport schedules, official hiking routes, …), statistical data, publicly funded research, data coming out of publicly funded anything actually (internet speeds, crime stats, police brutality, parliamentary attendance, and so on), and a bunch more. That shouldn’t be published on proprietary platforms for a fee, squirrelled away in a physical archive only accessible by travelling there, shouldn’t require a freedom of information request, or whatever else is put in the way.
Similar to the “Public Money, Public Code” campaign.
Fuck proprietary US tech products. Proprietary European tech products are only marginally better because they have to abide by European laws. Europe should not only push for European products, but also for open source and open data. Hopping from one sizzlingfrying pan into another one with a small flame underneath is but one step. Eventually we have to jump out of frying pans altogether and away from the fire or proprietary software.
Ayyy, gotta have that monaaaay!
Let me guess, they’re moving to Bluesky?
Italian insults are just funny. Everything is about dicks.
We need a campaign to convince the other 56%.
If it’s done with opensource and opendata, decoupling won’t be a problem. In fact, it might even give the EU less leverage. They can threaten to stop supporting or developing an opensource project or providing open data, but any other nation or group can decide to continue.
People living in Berlin and using opensource should request their public transport authorities to share the data with openstreet maps. I bet public transport schedules can be embedded into it.
If you live in Germany, @ them somewhere or send them an email. The more people do it, the more they’ll find it important. If you are in a Berlin community, ask them to join in. A single @ or email won’t convince them, but it’s a start.
Public offices would have to work with OSM. Right now they have exclusive deals with Google and actively publish their stuff to Google. Public offices should be publishing to OSM instead, but their citizens don’t give a fuck.
It’s a pity it isn’t open data, but no opensource project has been able to replicate their interface and make the data available, so I guess this is the best we can do at the moment. Still, my goto when looking for alternatives.
Nor should they.
TIL Canada has less sick days than Oman and Pakistan. What the fuck?
To the liberals: tax wealth, not work.
