university housing was like $9K for two semesters, roughly $1k/month, which included a room, utilities, internet, laundry facilities, gym access, and a cafeteria meal plan (iirc 15 entries per week)
looks like now it’s like 15-17k

oh, yeah I didn’t get that at all. good premise though, sounds like it woulda been funny

sounds like you need a bed of rice
if I understand correctly, it’s actually because she is. it explains that in order for a civil case to be under the jurisdiction of a federal court (and a civil case must be what she’s attempting, since she doesn’t cite any federal law to allege that the defendants have broken it), none of the plaintiffs can be citizens of the same state as any of the defendants. otherwise, presumably, it would fall under the jurisdiction of whichever state both parties are citizens of. so because both she and some gay people are Nebraskans, the case would have to be handled by a Nebraska state court, not a federal court
my favorite part is where they explain that for her to claim that this is under the jurisdiction of a federal court, she would have to prove that there are no gay people who are citizens of the state of Nebraska
saber-toothed cats are actually an entirely different lineage from what are called conical-toothed cats, that diverged about 20 million years ago. all saber-toothed cats are extinct, and all extant cats are conical-toothed, and descended from conical-toothed ancestors; there are no living cats descended from saber-toothed cats

to unambiguously say “unable to be locked” would be “nonlockable”

we’re seriously still denying Russian interference in the 2016 election? Trump’s own FBI confirmed it

in 2016, Russia, the successor state to the USSR, under the direction of its president, a former KGB agent, through a campaign of propaganda targeted at the American public, managed to install their agent into the presidency of the US, which did massive harm to the US economy, government institutions, and social cohesion and stability. to me that sounds like Cold War actors achieving Cold War goals through Cold War means
if Putin doesn’t think the Cold War is over, then it’s not over
is it kinda like, every time you think you’ve seen the last one, suddenly there’s another?
one must imagine Sisyphus into edging

I was surprised to see Euler here, I was like “he’s so famous” but then I remembered I literally have a degree in mathematics and I’m fully “of course quartz”-ing

this could be two different angles of the same sandwich for all we know. if you pull everything halfway off the bun, from one side it looks big and from the other side it looks small

when the “villain” is objectively correct, pointing out the failure of the establishment and that change is necessary, and then also skins puppies alive for no reason, and then the points they bring up are never addressed again
oh, we’re supposed to disagree with this? he’s right, and it’s Bush’s fault. because of “no child left behind” we’re letting kids who can’t read graduate high school. now, that’s not to say they should never graduate, but rather that they should have been taught to read, and not allowed to advance until they can
it’s not as bad as it sounds, he couldn’t have even made that many milkshakes in two and a half years, the machine would have probably only been working a few days in that time

I’m sure these topics become relevant at some point, but I’m doubtful that it’s absolutely necessary to address them in an intro course. how does leftist ideology help kids understand what a while loop does
like, literacy can do all of these things too, that doesn’t mean you have to introduce those concepts at the same time as the abc’s

how telling it is that so many of his appointees are former fox hosts. he thinks they’re qualified to do these jobs because they’re the only people he’s ever heard talk about these topics in a way that seems authoritative. that’s the level of political discourse that the president engages in

that doesn’t actually exist in the standard number system; there is no single real number that’s immediately next to 0, you can always get closer. some number systems have infinitesimals, but real numbers don’t. and any very small real number with a terminating decimal expression is simply the inverse of a very large number, which is simply a long string of 1+1+1+1+1…
the original Italian is parmigiano, so a soft g/j sound is actually more accurate than a s/z sound
