I don’t know about proof but when you spend lots of time on a platform you naturally start to notice patterns.
There was an essence of superficiality that permeated a lot of the content that I consumed on Reddit, even the niche subreddits.
For example, on the movie or video gaming subreddits people would often ask for recommendations and I noticed a lot of the top comments were single word answers. They’d just say the name of the movie or game. There was no anecdote to go along with the recommendation, no analysis, no explanation of what the piece of media meant to them.
This is a single example. But the superficiality is everywhere. Once you see it, it’s very hard to unsee it.
I’m a huge fan of the fediverse and I didn’t even get the fed reference haha. A typical user surely wouldn’t get it either!
Not a big fan of the name. Even PixelFeed would make more sense.
I’m conflicted. I really appreciated the quote at the beginning but the actual article seems so poorly written. Grammatical errors, run-on sentences, etc. Gave up half way through.
More like Augmented Reality. Where you put on a headset but it’s completely transparent and you are grateful there is nothing blocking your view.
Or in the case of Virtual Reality, you put on a headset and you see a pixel perfect recreation of the world right outside of your headset and it blows your mind. Because you have this instrument that is literally able to place you into any fantasy world and you realize that you are happy to stay exactly where you are.
Thank you! I’ve also only had a few of these moments in my life. Last night I was laying in bed with my toddler. As he was drifting off to sleep, I closed my eyes and visualized a super cozy, quiet evening. I could hear his cute little breathing, and feel his warm little body against mine and when I opened my eyes I was exactly where I wanted to be. I am so grateful for my son.
Meta Quest 3: dream with your eyes wide open™
Is this a reference to an ad or something? Lol I’m out of the loop!
I think you misunderstood the person above you. The servers are owned by someone, but the Fediverse as a whole isn’t. You’re both saying the same thing ☺️

Orcs Must Die was one of the last series that my friend and I played in co-op. We went from League (burn out) to recapturing some true gaming magic thanks to these games. I don’t play multiplayer these days but thanks for reminding me to give the 3rd entry a solo try.
These are some heavy accusations for Gabe
This game rocks! The first game holds such a special place in my heart so understandably I was both excited and a little nervous to get my hands on the second. Thankfully we have a Portal 2 situation happening here. They took all of the best parts of the first game (mind-bending puzzles, thought provoking philosophical ideas, beautiful music) and expanded on it all without losing any of the core identity.
I rarely buy games upon release but gladly purchased this one to support these guys.
The utopian city of Atlantis sunk due to bidet overuse.
Can you really recall every single detail? I’m not sure about you, but I can easily spend 30 minutes reading comments and then forget exactly what I was reading. Could I be reading gibberish that feels meaningful in the moment, but is gone as soon as I move on? Kind of like a dream?
