I’m sorry to hear that. I don’t know what to recommend for a Fold. I use Pixel phones and have been fortunate with compatibility with Jerboa and Connect, but it’s hit and miss. I’ve seen a lot of other users complain about issues with Jerboa even before the server version issue, but it’s been working great for me.
The Connect for Lemmy Android app works pretty well too.
Unfortunately it is currently broken with lemmy.world. For those of us that are already signed in it seems to work ok, but new users will need to use something else at the moment. Connect for Lemmy is a good alternative on Android.
Sort of. If I understand correctly something in 18 broke captcha so they can’t use it without being swarmed by bots. It will supposedly be repaired with server version 18.1. The Connect app for Lemmy doesn’t seem to have an issue with the older server version if people want to give that a try. Jerboa is broken with lemmy.world currently.
Agreed, Jerboa is working just fine for me.
It was the first one I was able to join. Beehaw didn’t accept me. They’re too exclusive for me.

Ah, I see. I was honestly never much of a Twitter user but the Mastodon concept really interested me. I’ve been on hachyderm.io since the Twitter takeover but have been on there far more this week since I am no longer on Reddit.
What happened to Mastodon? The community I’m in seems fairly active.
I’m on Jerboa right now on Android on a Pixel 6a and swiping works properly with no jankyness to speak of. I guess I got lucky.
Fellow former Bacon Reader user here, but I haven’t opened it since Monday. It has taken a few days but I’m getting used to the fediverse and am no longer missing Reddit.
