As someone watching from the US (and who has looked at possibly immigrating emigrating there) that’s what I noticed too. It seemed like the split wasn’t too far from Trump’s current approval rating. Luckily Canada doesn’t have to deal with the disaster that is the electoral college. This result however does make me really concerned about Canada’s next big election.

A couple of years back AT&T decided to implement a phone white list where if the phone model you were using wasn’t on the list then it wouldn’t work on their network even if it was technologically compatible. You could bring your own device, but only if it was on that list. The phone I was using at the time (and every phone after that) was not on the list, so I switched to a carrier that did not have that restriction.

You kinda can. I purchased mine through Clove Technology which ships to the US and am using it with a carrier that allows me to bring my own device.

I’m in the US and while Fairphone doesn’t sell the 5 here I was able to “import” it via Clover Technology.

I just bought a 1TB SD card and cloned the 512GB card that was in my phone over to it because I was running out of space. My phone is rooted which does make forcing or tricking apps to use the SD card for storage much easier.

If they make an adjustment now, sell a laptop at that price, and then tomorrow additional tariffs are implemented they may well end up with a loss on that sale to you.
