If done right even if the controller/bridge is down it should still work. However Zigbee is a bit of the wild west so mixing brands of switches and bulbs might not always work if you want this functionality so stick with one brand or test before you buy more. I have a few sonoff buttons and they dont work with ikea bulbs when pairing directly. But your mileage may vary.

I love all the ikea stuff, but true that the remote controls are absolutely garbage. I have multiple and they all are either slow, or not responding half the time. I think they have some debounce build onto the firmware and it is way too agressive.

Bme280 is actually just as cheap if not cheaper than the dht sensors. But its a fair point trying to keep the cost down. I definitely like that philosophy, but if the quality suffers too much it’s just not worth the trouble. Keep up the good work. 😎

Those dht11 sensors are garbage tho. Best case they are wildly off on their humidity sensor. Worst case they keep breaking and shows nonsense readings. I would recommend bme280 sensor instead. If you read about them you might see people complain that they are reading too high temperatures, but in my experience its because they are misconfigured. Default settings have a very high sampling rate of multiple samples per second that heats up the sensor a tiny bit giving you the offset. Lowering the sampling rate or turn the sensor off completely in between readings gives really precise measurements on both temperatures and humidity.

Well sometimes it is… very much subjective… That’s why different countries have different laws. Each country have subjective views on what should be punished or not and how much punishment is right. If Ethics is always objective and like a maths equation that can be solved we should all just have the same laws because it’s objective.

I agree but yet here we are… And I don’t think just putting people in jail helps. But it should definitely have consequences, that’s for sure, but they must first be effective for what they are trying to solve.

I think it is naive to think that only selfless and competent people will take the role then. If properly competent you’d see the massive risk of jail and be highly discouraged to take the position. Noone in their right mind would risk jailtime for a job position.

On the other hand, billionaires, risktakers and gamblers would be more than willing to take such a role for the power it gives. They don’t really care since billionaires manage their risks with all the money they have, and risktakers and gamblers simply just dont care about it untill it hits them.

Just to play Devils advokat here: Wouldn’t that just completely discourage anyone from taking up a new CEO or similar role since you are now liable for some illegal activities that might have happened without your knowledge and long time ago.

You would at least need very good evidence beyond reasonable doubt that the person in question actively put into motion the illegal activity and knew that it was illegal.

Placing blame on a single individual might feel satisfying but does not nessesarly punish the correct responsible. When cooperations get as large as Nvidia, Intel etc. it functions in my opinion like one giant complex organism and legal issues like these are often systemic and involves hundreds of people who took decisions.

I think massive and progressive fines are in fact a good tool because it punishes the “organism” that is truly to blame and not an individual who might be to blame.

To me it’s also about integrity. Know when to stop and when to take a break. Sometimes it’s good to stop while things are good instead of him keep pushing himself to produce untill something bad happens like worse quality. Scandalous YouTube drama arises or what ever else he’s in risk of ending up on. I’d rather keep remembering Tom as a really good person and YouTuber withe excellent content than a Tom who lost to the system. Also he might have a comeback with something else, something new and innovative that we couldn’t even imagine.

Yeah you are probably right that cost will be the biggest issue when comparing between the two fields of production. Getting a good stable production that is also cheap enough to be viable is always the hurdle

Algae just have a pretty strong flavor and might be off-putting for some so for it to take off i would love to have different flavours and species to pick from. Would be interning. So far I’ve only tried spirulina which has a quite strong taste in my smoothies and is deafening the taste of almost everything else.
