I will never understand investors. Anyone with half a brain can put two and two together when a company starts hiding anything. Investors have no idea what they’re doing, they just trust the customer will make them money, get angry when they’ve been duped, and will do it again.

Magic: The Gathering@lemmy.world•I'm so tired of Marvel shit in MTG. Please give me a real pack
14·8 days agoI had to look this up because I’ve been out of the loop for a while. I thought this was satire and now I’m just disappointed.
Marvel, TMNT, hobbit, avatar decks… Im at a loss for words for how dumb of an idea that was to convert MTG into the atrocity it is now.

Technology@lemmy.world•"We still value the culture of physical media" As PlayStation prepares for an all-digital future, Sega president comes out in support of discsEnglish
9·12 days agoIf we’re going digital only, pc is the only platform that makes sense. Physical media had its use with the ability to sell it or lend it out to your friends.
Meanwhile we have commercials on the radio “debunking” the myth that data centers waste a ton of water. We’re brainwashing the people, which is becoming easier as our braincells waste away using LLMs.

21·21 days agoPrices across the board have gone up, wages have not. People keep thinking they’ll climb the ladder and in reality, any raises they get are lucky to keep up with inflation.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Jagex Launcher for Linux Beta OUT NOW!English
10·24 days agoI experienced an issue when I downloaded osrs on steam and logged into it on steam. It made a new character and associated it to my email. I posted a bug on runelites discord and one of the mods that was helping me said I was hacking.
At the time, I didn’t know bolt existed. Bolt allows you to pick what character you log into.
In case you don’t know and you have more than one character, bolt works miracles. You don’t have to deal with the bad discord mods that have no idea what they’re doing.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Is Denuvo's Dominance Finally Beginning to Crack? A New Linux-Based Breakthrough Suggests It Might BeEnglish
34·25 days agoDoes denuvo do that it claims it does? More sales due to less pirating?
I would wager companies lose more money using it than the sales lost due to pirating.

Linux@lemmy.world•F*ck Windows: move to Fedora or UbuntuEnglish
61·25 days agoOver the decades, I’ve tried Ubuntu, mint, arch, fedora in that order. I would rate my experiences arch > fedora > mint > Ubuntu.
Endeavor os would be my first recommendation, Cachyos then fedora. If you want that classic windows 7 experience and very solid support, I recommend mint. If you need the latest drivers endeavor.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why don't we use mirrors to bring light into buildings more?
3·1 month agoMoney. Solar tubes are not cheap to buy or install. The longer they have to go, the more expensive they become.
