Today, Congressman Shri Thanedar (MI-13) introduced articles of impeachment against Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, citing a sweeping abuse of power, flagrant violations of the Constitution, and acts of tyranny that undermine American democracy and threaten the rule of law.

“Donald Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that he is unfit to serve as President and represents a clear and present danger to our nation’s constitution and our democracy,” said Rep. Thanedar. “His unlawful actions have subverted the justice system, violated the separation of powers, and placed personal power and self-interest above public service. We cannot wait for more damage to be done. Congress must act.”

The resolution includes seven articles of impeachment outlining a range of constitutional violations:

1. Obstruction of Justice and Abuse of Executive Power: Including denial of due process, unlawful deportations, defiance of court orders, and misuse of the Department of Justice.
2. Usurpation of Appropriations Power: For dismantling congressionally established agencies and impounding federal funds.
3. Abuse of Trade Powers and International Aggression: Including imposing economically damaging tariffs and threatening military invasion against sovereign nations.
4. Violation of First Amendment Rights: Through retaliatory actions against critics, media, and attorneys exercising constitutionally protected speech.
5. Creation of an Unlawful Office: By establishing the Department of Government Efficiency (“DOGE”) and unlawfully empowering Elon Musk to unilaterally violate the Constitution.
6. Bribery and Corruption: Involving dismissing criminal cases, soliciting foreign emoluments, and extortionate settlements for personal and political gain.
7. Tyrannical Overreach: Seeking to consolidate unchecked power, erode civil liberties, and defy constitutional limits on presidential authority.

Rep. Thanedar emphasized that the American people deserve leadership rooted in accountability and integrity, not authoritarianism, saying, “This is not about partisanship. It’s about protecting our democracy and ensuring that no one, not even a President, is above the law.”

Don’t bother preaching, it’s a waste of breath and is just annoying to the average person.

If I remember the Halo books correctly (it’s been a while) the Spartan armor started out a golden color but dulled to green hue due to hits from Covenant energy weapons over time. Not particularly relevant to this discussion but I thought it was an interesting bit of lore.

I need to go back and reread them. Great series and well written for the most part.

Originally doom guy was just a face at the bottom of the HUD that grunted and got bloody as you took hits. The only images of him I remember was just a marine in green combat armor, not too dissimilar to modern real world combat armor, standing on a pile of dead demons and zombies(1993) and the 3rd person cinematics from Doom 3 (early 2000s ish?) where again he looked just like a normal human marine.

Halo come around in the mid 2000’s and Master Chief was never shown outside his armor or with his helmet off. Outside the TV show I’m not sure if that is still the case.

Not sure when the modern images of doom guy came about but I think it was around 2015. Probably not earlier.

Libre Office should work in most cases. In the handful that Libre Office can’t you might try installing MS Office through WINE.

One heads up, even MS Office on Windows has trouble with opening MS Office formats correctly between versions. Seems like every time they release a new version the format changes slightly but dramatically. The actual text is usually fine, but formatting is often borked.

A third option is to use Office 365. It’s browser based. It’s also a monthly subscription.

You don’t have to but it helps folks that don’t speak English to be able to filter by language. English speakers seem to be dominant in the undetermined category from what I’ve noticed.

I’m inclined to say no. It pretty much a useless feature and doesn’t solve the fundamental problems of searching a federated service like Lemmy.

Even if LLMs worked like the general public thinks they should, who would pay for the processing time? A one off request isn’t too expensive, sure, but multiply that times however many users a server might have and it gets real expensive real quick. And that’s just assuming the models are hosted by the Lemmy server. It gets even more expensive if you’re using a one of the public APIs to run the LLM queries.

I remember reading somewhere that most of the caffeine used in things that don’t usually have caffeine, comes from the byproduct of making decaf coffee.Not sure how true that is though.

I suspect the Linux kernel would support quantum first. Somehow I don’t see a multi billion dollar multinational moving fast enough to beat some caffeine addicted teen looking for street cred.
