I recently swapped back to FLauncher after using Projectivy for a while. Projectivy uses a lot more resources (cache + RAM) and my TV only has like 4GB of storage.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say with arbitrary numbers pulled out of the air about the amount of “coders” and potential users on codeberg.

A lot of people go to codeberg to get away from big tech.

All their policy is saying is that they don’t want vibe coded projects on the platform. They would rather their storage and bandwidth go to real people, not dead-end vibe coded slop projects.

AI generated code is verbose, incredibly verbose, as you stated yourself… and a lot of the time verbose and bad.

This policy allows them to get rid of the worst offenders and point to the policy as their reason.

The AI code thing is geared towards vibe coded projects. Using AI to clean it doesn’t mean it’s vibe coded.

Codeberg e.V. members voted to ban projects that “mostly” consist of code written by generative AI tools.

You can argue, it’s hard to prove that etc, etc… But you need to remember that they have limited funds/storage and if vibe coders start using that storage with dead-end projects, that can be a problem.

Lawnchair has this and is the closest to Nova that I’ve found.

Joplin stores everything in a database and back up / sync can fail and/or corrupt… It’s nice that it’s FOSS but that was a deal breaker for me.

Obsidian stores everything in plain folders and markdown files and you can sync it between devices however you want. It’s not FOSS, unfortunately, but at least the data is easily accessible even without a program.

I’m excited for this but really upset that the beta is in FALL OF 2027…

I bought the Plex Lifetime Subscription at like $80 (or maybe $120?) years ago. I still moved to Jellyfin.

Plex became too cumbersome and… They hide the “local IPs that can connect without auth” behind “advanced settings” and when I moved… I couldn’t use my own media through Plex for over a day until internet was setup.

The comments here really put into perspective how many people don’t actually read the articles linked.

They’re using the open source ad block library from brave, largely because of licensing, but keeping text search ads for the default search engine (Start page) enabled because that is part of how Waterfox makes money.

It’s just an integrated adblocker… It’s not enabled for anyone using an ad blocker already and for new users… you can shut it off and still use uBlock Origin instead.

Put my old PC in a 4U server case and have it in a rack (minus the GPU)… I also added a ton of RAM early last year (thank god). I’m probably wasting electricity but it’s fine… I can spin up anything and everything without issues which is nice compared to my old NUC and laptop servers that would crash frequently.

I’ve been using HelixNotes and syncing between my devices via git pull/push on a private codeberg repo, but if you’re not familiar with git then syncthing and syncthing-android (assuming you have android) should work as well.

I absolutely love HelixNotes so far (been using it for a month or so).

Original with misinformation stricken out: I don’t think stoat is federated… People need to make a new account for every server, so I can’t see this catching on.

I wouldn’t personally care, but it’s a problem for a lot of people.

If I’m wrong let me know though. I’d love to get away from discord and my attempts to get friends on mumble or TS6 have been unsuccessful.

Navidrome uses the subsonic API but is actively developed and works great.
