I just recently got a 3d printer (a Sovol sv08) and a keyboard like that was something I wanted to print! I want a split keyboard but cannot afford the prices of commercial ones right now so I wanted to see if it was possible to print something. the handwiring scares me though so I’ll have to look into a kit or something. I loved the idea of bitcoin as a decentralized currency. However, to this day it has proven it is not a currency because it is used for investing and speculating. People in some countries use USD rather than their local currency because of the unstable nature of their curency. Bitcoin is not stable so the only way it works as a currency is if you buy bitcoin and immediate use as it won’t hold its value.
But the idea seems so wonderful for a solarpunk world. Is there anyway a cryptocurrency could be made that wasn’t investing/scamming/etc?
That was my first thought as well, but I think he means things, not time. You miss this thing and that as you stare at your phone. So in that second of mindless scrolling, you missed things around you that might have added something to your day, to your life. So ‘how much of your life do you let pass by’ is not asking how many seconds of life did you let pass by (though that is the first thought upon reading), but ‘how many things that could have affected your life- for the better or worse- do you let pass you by?’
