Oh huh, that makes a lot of sense now.
Oh huh, that makes a lot of sense now.
Nah yeah its like that everywhere. At first it seemed sales tax thing to make the price an even $16 or something but at 8% it comes out to 16.07 so its… genuinely suspicious.
He very well may be. This is anecdotal but I’ve noticed that some people use autism as a shorthand for other disabilities, particularly if they aren’t close with the individual in question. I have no idea how widespread this is but it creeps me out a little every time I notice it happening.
I think that the best thing you can do, right now, is to reach out to the transgender people in your lives and tell them you care, and if applicable, that you love them. This goes doubly so for the ones in the UK. I imagine that most, if not all of us really need to be told that someone gives a shit.
Yeah, there’s much, much more to be done but I think that would be a nice place to start.
Theres a lot of really fucked up evil ones out of print that can be yours for the low, low price of however much they charge for 10,000 copies. Theres one where a holocaust survivor gets pilled on the very Jack Chick specific version of the Catholic World Conspiracy and immediately converts to evangelical christianity. “Squatters” is about Palestine and claims that the Nakba was self-inflicted, very “I support Israel because Jesus is gonna come back” type stuff. Queer people are portrayed worse than murderers are in the Jack Chick universe, lots of “but its okay they deserved it!” regarding SA and HIV/AIDS.
But yeah no some of this shit is hilarious (cw: queerphobia and animal abuse)
This eight panel sequence fucking slaughters me, I love Bobby.
At the very end little Bobby never got saved. He’s in hell now, fuck Bobby.
IIRC /pol/ (as well as other boards) had a feature that would put flags on user’s posts based off of the location they were posting from. This was easily spoofed using things like VPNs so if the numbers we’re seeing here are at all related to that feature then this is functionally meaningless. Also, this looks like a screenshot from one of the archive sites, probably not related to the hack.
Sorry to be that guy.
To be clear, there are operations from all over the world that employ posting as a means to sway public opinion and manufacture consent. What I’m saying is that this image shouldn’t be used as proof of one thing or another.
I’m not sure about that last part. While it may prove useful in the event of a climate collapse scenario I have doubts as to its purpose being so forward-thinking. The USA is white supremacist, built on slavery, the perpetrator of genocides and born from imperialism. Such a state turning its tools inwards is probably just the natural progression of things.
Is there a way to disable this feature beyond the obfuscation methods mentioned elsewhere in this thread? Like software hacks and such.
Section 4, part a, subsection i:
[D]etermine whether, since January 1, 2020, public monuments, memorials, statues, markers, or similar properties within the Department of the Interior’s jurisdiction have been removed or changed to perpetuate a false reconstruction of American history, inappropriately minimize the value of certain historical events or figures, or include any other improper partisan ideology;
This is specifically attempting to restore the effigies of slaveowners and their defenders that were taken down during and after the George Floyd protests. Hopefully most of those weren’t on federal property and those that were got properly disposed of. Its a fairly small thing in the grand scheme of things, and certainly not the worst thing in the EO. However it would be nice to have fewer monuments that push the myth of the lost cause of the confederacy.
F-35s as a type have yet to down any manned aircraft but they have been used to take out drones and do ground attack roles. IIRC they were used against lebanon last year and they were what the Israelis used to retaliate against Iran after operation True Promise II.
Fun Fact: Currently the F-22 type has one recorded air to air victory. It was achieved in 2022 against one of those spy balloons everyone was freaking out about. The F-22 is set to retire and be replaced by what is now known as the F-47.
The QUALITY presentation here makes me think that Donny was given the briefing on it last night and just had to have an oval office show and tell session about it today.
Compare that to the reveal of their most recent bomber which included a teaser trailer, live stream, and E3-ass presentation with music and speeches and everything.
How can we tell them “it gets better” when this is what they’re being given?
They talk about preventing the mutilation of children while giving them unimaginable scars. People of my age were at least able to see things get better for queer people, the young ones today have only known this backsliding.
Fuck.
The reactionary nature of nostalgia aside…
Making electronics with transparent parts is good because it is a reversal of this phenomenon where the mechanical nature of devices is obfuscated from the consumer. A modern smartphone is designed as though it was ashamed to be a machine, a black box with a screen on one side and a camera on the other. While these do not explain themselves to the user they are open as to what they are, a collection of circutboards and switches and wires arranged in a way that serves a purpose. They are something created with intention, rather than having been produced out of nothing.
That being said, transparent plastics tend to be less durable than their opaque counterparts, which definitely contributed to the end of the trend.
I feel like if I opened this and read it right now, without preparation, that it would deal enough psychic damage to kill me outright.
How bad is it?
