These giant images you keep using contribute nothing and make it harder to read a thread. Kinda funny that you’re the one posting “shit advice award” and “blocked” when the only thing you’re contributing is a bad attitude.

Would anyone be interested in a comic book community? It seems like the other comic communities are being camped on by “mods” with empty accounts. I’m not sure if @literature.cafe would allow a majorily image based group.
Martha and John Kent may not have changed the world, but Superman sure did
When I was in middle school, a girl did in fact get a bug bite on her eyeball. It was blood red for a week and she couldn’t see well, but long term she was fine.
It’s an older meme, so it’s possible OP just googled a quick template and didn’t realize it wasn’t the original.
Actually, you’re right. You said I had ASPD, not ASD. Sorry about that.
I know about 5 different people’s names at work. If I meet someone new, I forget someone else’s name.
Cause that’s how brains work.
Hey, Abigail here. I just want people to know the reason this guy got banned is likely because of a deleted comment not included in that thread. OP called me autistic for not liking politics. THAT kind of behavior is not acceptable on lemmy.blahaj.zone, so I reported the comment and let Ada handle it. Ada tried in good faith to reason with OP but it was clear they just wanted to fight. So yeah, they got banned. Ada’s a fantastic lady who’s been great at keeping the trolls at bay.
I really like this analogy!
My brother and I live together. A lot of people think it’s weird but it’s been great for both of us. I worked part time while going to college while he footed most of the bills. Now he’s a full time student and I’m paying for everything. We get all the household benefits of a married couple (shared chores, lower food bill, cheaper housing per person, mixed finances, etc) without the risks.
Success in early adulthood heavily depends on having familial support, especially from your parents. We don’t have that, but together we can still pool resources and do better than if we were alone.
I’ve got an app called SmartNews that pulls news from lots of different sources and aggregates them. My feed is set up to pull news only from the front pages of AP and Reuters - which seem to be mostly unbiased sources that both sides get info from for their articles and they use unbiased titles. I skim to the end of my feed (which isn’t very long, maybe 20-30 articles) read a half dozen of them, and that’s my news for the day. Every other media source has news and politics 100% filtered out.
I feel like it’s enough info for informed decisions and topical conversations with my coworkers, but not so much that I dwell on news in my off time.

I recently moved to a new area and got a card in the mail telling me my polling place. On election day I showed up and found out three districts use that building.
So I asked the volunteer which district I was in. He asked for my address, then said, “I don’t know where that is”. K thx, buddy. Then he whipped out a 20 year outdated paper map and asked me to find my house. The street wasn’t even there! After finally stepping out of line (and some exasperated groans of relief behind me) I did 15 minutes of frantic googling to find my district. Then I had to go to the back of the line and wait again.
I was lucky I had the day off work for all that nonsense. Most people don’t have that luxury.
The woman on the left is wearing a hooters uniform and waitress apron. I wouldn’t be surprised if her boss sent her out there and forced her to counter protest to keep her job.
Nothing will compare to last week when I was listening to a podcast in the car. The GPS will pause podcasts instead of turning down the volume. So I heard “well, this looks like a MUR - turn right on baker st - DER!”. I bust out laughing all by myself in the car.
There was some pseudoscience going around a while back about people can be left brain or right brain thinkers. Supposedly it came down to your dominant hand - meaning lefties are artistic and righies are logical. It’s been thoroughly debunked but people still say it to me fairly often.
Ugh, I used to follow a wildlife channel. The head of their YouTube had a kid, and then every other video was her repeating “can you say jackal?” over and over and OVER. I’m here for wildlife videos, not to watch your kid ignore the camera getting shoved in their face. But everyone was super positive towards the first kid video and she thought it was encouragement. For shame.
