But the leopard promised so many great things. I mean, sure, the leopard DID say outright that he would eat my face, but I thought surely he’d never eat MY face.
Small steps are how engineering gets done. It’s a rare technology that proves its value overnight.
Well, Steve Hoffstetter is a professional comedian, and his FB posts are to drum up interest in his live shows.
I use FB quite a bit, but then I don’t engage with it for news. It really is just for keeping in touch with friends.
I never thought I’d watch conservatives applaud Russia rebuilding the Iron Curtain.
But, here we are.
For real, go to a library and ask a librarian for help.
They’ll have various books aimed at different levels of maturity and reading levels. Get a book, read it yourself, then ask him to read it and talk about what you learned.
Well. He’s gotten better.
I think he really struggled understanding that he was seen as a leader, and that people were modelling his behavior because he was setting the standard. Once he realized that, his criticisms became more… measured.
Absolutely.
I wasn’t particularly frustrated or stressed, it just really didn’t play well with my Nvidia hardware.
I hate to say it, but the only solution to bullying (and it’s not much of a solution) is to escalate the issue to administrators and parents. Over and over and over again, until the administration realizes that allowing these kids to be near each other is exposing the school to risk.
Sounds like the friend is absolutely “negging” your sister, trying to convince her that she’s defective and can’t expect better treatment.
Of course, you can explain this dynamic to your sister – that her friend is trying to build herself up by convincing your sister that she’s terrible. But sadly many people subjected to such behavior internalize it and are unable to fight it.
Well, I guess I just thought that with a PC vendor keeping it up for their own hardware, I assumed it would be more robustly supported.
It’s a really bad decision to make too early.
You say that like parents wouldn’t make the decision and find a doctor to do it.
Yeah, I realized about 30 seconds after I wrote that… “he wanted to keep the gun and the ID as proof that he was the guy”.
He escaped clean, and then let himself get caught so he could make his case in court.
Let’s see if he plays the next hand: plead ‘not guilty’, refuse all plea agreements, and demand a jury trial.
I worked in higher ed computer support at a major research university for 12 years, believe me I know.
Oh good lord. He kept the gun and the fake ID?
I guess MS in Computer Science doesn’t mean you’re smart.
An operation can be both an act of resistance and terrorism at the same time
I broadly agree, but the language of the original article is what I objected to:
It dismisses the costs of both sides for defending the settlements while fighting the Palestinian freedom fighters, that Israel calls terrorists.
That language clearly implies that the label “terrorist” is invalid.
EDIT: Just to clarify. We’ve seen this many times before.
The Muhajadeen who fought so hard to free Aghanistan from the Soviet Union had a just cause, and they were certainly resistance fighters. But they had no interest whatsoever in “freedom” for Afghanistan. They wanted to rule it.
That is the same accusation I am levying against Hamas. They are terrorists, and they are resistance fighters. But they are not freedom fighters. Their goal is to eject Israel and install an Islamist, anti-democratic state.
Admins, please answer this.
In the United States, the right to trial by jury is absolute. Once of the consequences of that right is that juries can choose to follow the law, or not, a they see fit to ethically administer justice. “Should a jury nullify if…” regarding hypothetical future crimes is a completely legitimate topic of conversation, to explore the ethical issues of nullification.
