imgur always deletes nsfw content, it’d be as well to keep it, IMO. imgbox and Catbox are the two I use.

Sorry mate, new problem:

I uploaded my images to imgbox, save you the bandwidth, looks like they’ve been auto cached and are being served up directly from LemmyNSFW server. disk will be full again in no time if you do that.

Edit: Ah, no, scratch that, looks like it is fetching it from image host but via a cache. (trying to make reloading smoother for popular images?)

I will try the other UI’s and see if they let me.

Edit: that’s done. OK so when we find ourselves here again I’m advising myself to use Photon because Tesseract and Alexandrite are abortions that are highly stressful to use on my desktop setup being full of stuff that makes no sense and gets in the way.

I cannot: the NSFW flag appears on new posts but not on the edit post form.

OK, I am just having to remember to flag it. No biggie.

Working again now, I had whitelisted the site in ublock origin but the update must’ve cleared that setting and it was turned on again, so of course, the js didn’t work. Sorry about that, I know you’ve got enough on your plate.

When I used to type @ and then start typing a username then an auto-tagger drop down used to pop up. That don’t happen no more.

All my posts look like that. If I click edit, the picture downloads again and I can just save and the thumbnail reappears. Guess I know what I’m doing for the next hour.

Edit: someone messaged me to say all my new posts were showing up without the nsfw flag. Didn’t the instance used to be set to auto-flag any new post as NSFW?

You saw how I react to things during this whole debate, I’m not the type of person you want dealing with your users. About twenty years ago I used to mod on an early file-sharing network and even that tiny bit of power went to my head and I started to go a little bit mad with it. It taught me that I’m not really a fit person to be in charge of anything but me 😁

I appreciate the offer but I can promise you that you’d regret it. I want to stick to what I came here to do, which is share the pictures I’ve saved with other people.

I want to thank you lemmyposter212 for this fair minded decision. I know that we’ll probably revisit this subject in a number of months and then maybe the decision will be different and I shall probably bow out gracefully at that point rather than mount a protest.

But for right now I have another problem which is how to go about restoring the posts I blanked out. What I intend to do is to go through and try to match the titles to their original picture and then I shall make a weekly digest post of the ones that have been restored so that the people who haven’t seen them before can enjoy them.

Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.
