Same here. I remember watching What the Bleep do we Know in high school. As someone who basically watched The Matrix on a loop, I would have been a likely target for right wing grifters. I don’t care for Family Guy either. But if you like slow, contemplative sci-fi, The Orville surprisingly delivers.
It feels more like Trek than anything from this decade.
I was pleasantly surprised by Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds is growing on me. The rest of New Trek really didn’t interest me.

This was my exact reaction too. Supposedly he stopped taking pharmaceutical money but he still takes lots of other corporate money. While I was searching, an AI summary said he was a business friendly progressive which seems like an oxymoron to me.
