just a dude on the internet

I haven’t trusted CTV since they were bought by Bell. Nothing owned by Bell can be trusted. All they care about is money.
it’s pretty easy and convenient currently. install magisk delta (for proper magisk hide support) and playintegrityfix and things should work no problem.
been using google wallet on lmodroid without issue. even have a module installed for unlimited google photos backups :)
I switched to Vivaldi a couple months ago, and previously used brave in the past before growing to dislike it. It surprises me how many brave-heads ignore Vivaldi’s existence. It’s just a better Brave. No crypto BS and lots of poweruser features.
Similar to Lineage but a few extras. I’ve been enjoying it a lot. Also seems to have better compatibility with gapps if you choose to install them. Been running Nikgapps full no issue where on lineage pixel launcher would crash frequently.
magisk delta + play integrity fix has worked well for me. using google wallet without an issue
It’s almost like if they want people to not hate their country they should stop being a corrupt authoritarian hellhole
No, the creator has been paid for the sponsorship beforehand. If you were never going to get the products that are sponsored then there’s no difference between skipping it or letting it play and ignoring it.
I mean yeah, youtube does track the times in videos people do watch and are engaged in, but by skimming through almost any video you can see many people skip around and don’t actually watch the full videos.
Sponsorblock just saves me from manually skipping past the sponsorships. I was never going to buy a shilled product to begin with anyway. I buy things based on my own research, not what a youtuber says I should buy.
Quit playing the numbers game. It’s all irrelevant. Those numbers are there to go up, give you that dopamine, and get you addicted. Yeah, it’s hard, but once you keep reminding yourself that most social media is designed to be addictive and is genuinely detrimental to mental health, you will begin to stop caring.
Both Sludge Life games. A bit unconventional but I found a lot of spots in the games where I would just stand there and take in the various scenes going on. Both games can be beaten fairly quick but it took me hours to get through them because I kept stopping to just take in everything going on.
My guess is the more casual nature of the communication going on. It’s less formal than putting in the effort of creating a published work like an article or video. Here you can just put the words in a box and hit go, your content is on the internet. Articles and videos require more time and effort to put together, so it would make sense to me for those to appear more formal, even if the content isn’t the most serious.
I always thought the hypocrisy between alcohol and cannabis packaging is ridiculous. If cigarettes and cannabis need to be heavily restricted in terms of having simple, plain packaging with health warnings, anything for sale that can cause health issues should be subject to the same restrictions.
Yes this. It’s great that a national news source is embracing the fediverse. This is their instance for those who haven’t seen it.
It’s an experiment set for 6 months, but the more people who support it the more likely it will become permanent.
Canadian here. I think the law is stupid. It’s literally free advertising. I use Google News to see a bunch of local and national news sources in one spot. I only see the article headlines. If I want to see anything, I have to click and go to the full article. The news companies aren’t paying anything to get aggregated and they get free traffic to their site.
In regards to the quoting pieces of the article they’re linking to in search results, the brief snippets they provide often have barely any information at all or cut off before the information you want to see, so you have to click on the results anyway.
Our government is just inept when it comes to the internet.
Fediverse.observer is a good resource for sorting through and finding different instances for all types of activitypub platforms. There are pages for Lemmy and Kbin among plenty of others. That’s how I found the instance I’m currently on, and I’m pretty happy with it.
I do lawn care and I’ve had heat exhaustion/minor heat stroke more times this year than every other year combined. I’m in Canada and I remember when 30 celsius with the humidex was hot. Now it’s getting to nearly 40 fairly consistently.
Honestly, with how crap everything is getting and how many times governments have had to give out various relief funds the past few years, why do we not have a universal basic income yet? At least that way they wouldn’t have to pass a new law every few months to give out a bit of pocket change that doesn’t actually make a difference with how high the cost of living is now.
Yeah. When I was trying to find a kbin instance to join I’d go to the different ones, read the FAQ, privacy policy, terms of service, and made an educated decision after finding one that I thought was good, and I am not disappointed with my choice. A directory would be nice but a few extra clicks to find out the same information with more detail is worth it imo
Ahh, the good old days of making different userbars. I think that’s actually how I got started learning programs like gimp and photoshop lol
Anyway, it probably changed when social media took off. Preferences shifted and they fell out of style. I didn’t mind smaller signatures with a few userbars and stuff, but they did sometimes get crazy if there weren’t image size limits or limits of the amount of pics allowed in a signature.
If amazon was solely a marketplace they may have an argument but seeing as they’re arguing the content moderation and targeted advertising to kids, they seem to be forgetting they own twitch, a very large online platform that serves ads out the ass
If it’s legal for women to be topless in public, why would pictures of topless females be in this law?
Our government really is dumb. Plus, it’s only going to expose the kids to sketchier and possibly illegal stuff. If big porn players step up and do verifications, there would surely be dozens of sketchy sites popping up left and right to fill the void of providing porn.
