Son broke my favourite mug. And he then threw my phone at my wrist, which hit my watch and scratched the phone screen. Yeah, its been a fun one.
Hey.
I’m Dan. A 36 year old father of two who doesn’t have nearly as much time as he needs to do half the things he wishes he had the time to do.

I’ve stopped looking at my notifications on Reddit, it’s just too anxiety inducing for me. Thankfully I’ve not had that same problem here, although I’m sure it’ll happen eventually.
Hope you feel better.
Don’t set yourself alight to keep yourself warm. Not always easy, but it is something I believe. You can only do so much if someone isn’t willing to help themself.
I’ve only seen one or two WSL games on TV but I’m always happy to see more sport content on Lemmy so good luck.
I can see both arguments for and against voting for a third party. Ultimately it’s your call and you’re gonna do what you’re gonna do. I do think it’s a sign of a deeply broken system when people can legitimately think that casting your vote for another candidate is a waste though.
I’m in the UK and whilst it’s not exactly the same an awful lot of people will say that a vote for anyone that isn’t Labour is a vote for the Big Bad Tories. And whilst I do agree that it probably doesn’t help get rid of the Tories it’s also a pretty bad indictment of how broken the electoral system is.
I also think this changes depending on the job you’re going for. There’s absolutely no reason I’d try to be funny or interesting on my entry-level order picker job. Assuming they even bother to look at my CV they’re mainly looking to see if I’ve got any work history.
If I’m applying for something creative, or maybe something that requires a bit of personality I’m sure it’d go over better… although even that is a double-edged sword.
I love the thought of paper books, but the functionality of my eReader is just too great. I can carry my books with me in one tiny little thing, it’s got a light built in and doesn’t weigh too much. Also saves so much shelf space.
My partner has promised to take the kids out tomorrow so I should have 3-4 hours of uninterrupted free time for the first time in…well 6 months.
I’ll probably nap.
Worked mainly. Me and my partner both worked alternative shifts at a supermarket. We also parented a toddler who turned two just as COVID hit.
So yeah. Great fun. Constant risk of bringing home COVID, no time to see each other and a toddler who was suddenly told she wasn’t even allowed to go to a park or spend time with people outside our own bubble.
This.
Me and my partner have spent the last hour looking through recipe books because I need to figure out how to good a more… diabetes friendly selection of foods.
I can cook a roast dinner no problem, but cooking beans and pulses? No idea.
Got the week off from work so I’m taking it easy working harder than I do at work to get all jobs done that I otherwise don’t have the time to do.
That’ll be it.
Team in question being Leicester City Football Club who won the Premier League title in that year.
Nope.
I’ve added a clue to the comment.
One of our sports teams shocked the world in 2016 by doing the impossible.
The team in question wasn’t the Tigers.
Got my daughter’s birthday party. Finally. Can’t wait for it to be over but I think she’s going to have a good time and I’m told that’s what it’s all about.
Had a rough day yesterday. I woke up with the best of intentions but without 20 minutes my kids had beaten it out of me. The next 4-5 hour were pretty rough, although it did improve as we got through the afternoon. I need a breather, a break.
Going to be an odd week. I’ve got a week off work as of Saturday…but I’ve got to get to Saturday first and that’s the real trial. Also got my daughters first ‘proper’ birthday party, which is making me more anxious than it really should. So much to plan, so little time.
Turned 2 a few weeks back. I think we’re entering, or have just entered the terrible twos. Fun fun fun.
