help-circle

  • I’m from the UK but I have my own version of this.

I went to a Church of England school. When I was about 8, we had this super religious teacher start. She was Methodist so made us change the words of the lord’s prayer to her version. I loudly and defiantly said the old one every time.

It wasn’t long after, that I stopped saying prayers altogether, making sure to stare ahead with lips tight and hands unclasped, so nobody could mistake me as being pious!

I probably would have been that annoying kid had just been schooled in the USA.

  • American conservatives have been frighteningly effective at pushing this narrative that they are the outsiders, that they’re fighting against the status quo, so it doesn’t surprise me that they would steal punk.

They consider it a radical act to be straight, white, and Christian, when in fact that always has been, and still is the majority, as well as those who hold the money and the power.

From my perspective, this has been one of their most successful moves and it’s been brewing for decades - look at the tea party. There has never been a leftist or even liberal machine to rage against, but pretending that there is gets all the normies to feel special and oppressed at the same time, culminating in this fucking shitshow you have over there.

    Fuck these Nazis

  • Once again, it’s a right winger doing this heinous shit.

I relistened to a podcast episode about Sound Of Freedom movie the other day, and they were saying it suits the right wing narrative to believe child abuse is shady organisations using shipping containers. That way, it distracts them from the fact that most children are suffering because of a member of their family or someone in a position of authority (e.g. church leader). They get to feel righteous without having to look at the real causes or challenge the conservative ideals of the traditional family and religion.

  • Can we get this man some help. Not saying he’s not an absolute wanker - that’s a given - but isn’t anyone close to him concerned about his mental health?

He’s fallen out with the leader of the far-right Reform UK now, because, apparently that frog-faced fuck Farage does have a line in the sand (at least for appearances’ sake), and isn’t comfortable with Musk’s support for fascist thug “Tommy Robinson”.

Hopefully this means no donation (bribe) to Reform UK, but I’m sure that piece of shit will continue to try and fuck with our democracy.

I feel this. I have adapted very well to small talk and kid talk, but veer off this and I realise how little I have in common with other parents. I even work in a field that should be full of lefties, but I can only think of one person there I can have these proper conversations with.

Luckily my neighbour is more on my wavelength when it comes to billionaires. Actually had a conversation today that went to cursing their existence within minutes. Can’t remember what started it!

Some are more gentle on your stomach.

You may have helped me solve a mystery. I started taking it a few weeks ago and I’ve had a lot of abdominal discomfort recently, but never put the two together. Also, I’ve unfortunately not seen any improvement in my chronic fatigue.

Yeah, I was quite surprised by this as I’m so used to how capitalism ruins everything.

This is what I read and it was a shock to me that companies not only improved the quality of the cloth when they realised people made garments from sacks, but also strove to provide fashionable designs and wash-off labels. There are some really gorgeous prints on here.

Nowadays, it feels like they would make the original packaging more coarse, then sell the product with nicer packaging at a premium, whilst making sure their logo was indelible.
