It would be irrelivant. Trump will change anything and everything to suit his needs. You can change whatever you want and he’ll just change it back on day one. You know, that one day he made very clear that he was going to be a dictator. That’s the one day set aside to change every single thing he needs to. After that, nothing else matters.

Yeah, I’m no expert but won’t Trumps tariffs on everything under the sun be much much worse than the inflation?? Manufacturing won’t come back to the USA, it’ll just shuffle around any of dozens of countries that will still be cheaper to operate out of. Also, retalitory tariffs are a thing which will harm what manufacturing IS in the USA. Also, Trump promised his rich buddies 3 trillion dollars in tax breaks. He’s going to slash health budgets (and more besides) to fund it. What are people thinking!? They’re going to fund the ultra rich from their own pockets AND pay massively more for goods while damaging local industry?! I mean there’s a million other things to worry about including mass-deportation but cost of living is about to increase BIGLY!?

His interview after the debate was better but not great and the harsh fact is that he’s as good as he will ever be right now and only going to get worse with time. Just for a bit of context I was “surfing the internet” in 1994 via Gopher, an early alternative to the web as we know it now and I used it primarily to find and download apps stored on computers connected to the internet.

In 1995 I was using the Mosaic browser and later Netscape to surf the World Wide Web mostly via webrings that were individual webpages that had links to other wepages of similar content linked to them.

I don’t recall and am not aware of anything that would resemble a meme from that time? This is a year or so before Dancing Baby which is usually considered the first viral video and even then that was originally shared via email forwards.

I used OpenOffice then switched to LibreOffice in recent years. I also use Word and occasionally BBEdit but mostly stick with OpenOffice for as I only need simple text editing, basic tables etc Edit: to add that I also use Google Docs and Google Keep when I want something quick and dirty that’s going to later be available anywhere I might possibly need to access it

This is really great! I’ve also been quite lost but am enjoying the learning process!

One thing I’ve just learned is that all the different instances don’t neccessarily ‘federate’ with each other in real time (there can be some lag in content showing up in your instance) or at all. Only instances your instance federates with sync up? I think? :-) I see beehaw.org have had to cut ties to a couple of instances to help with the flood of new users and content happening right now. It seems while you can still view their content from your instance you can’t comment or post to it? I think? :-)

Yes, this is key, fewer but more vibrant communities rather than many mostly empty ones.
