  • The best I can do is give you my example I use when I try to explain my feelings regarding bottom surgery.

Once I was given a blue pen, didn’t ask for it but I enjoyed drawing water, the sky and many other things. I always fancied having a red pen though, so I can draw the sunset, fire and roses. I don’t hate the blue pen, it’s been great but if I could choose I’d have the red pen any day.

I feel mostly annoyed about my parts because they get in the way… I just can’t wear what I want without extra steps and a constant feeling of bulging ಠ_ಠ

In regards to the costs, how much is it in your country? I have no concept of costs because in my place the health insurance would cover the costs if I ever were to get it (if I have a paper from my psychologist saying the op is required or recommended).

In other TMI news: I think it patience and introspective is what will get you the furthest. I tried anal, the differences in enjoyment proper prep makes is - at least for me - staggering. Which I only bring up because sometimes we don’t do a thing because it wasn’t perfect the first time. Some things require practice/experience.

  • I am sorry for the troubles you are in, hang in there.

I would say you should start by looking at visa, visa requirements and decide on a path. Depending on where you are from you might speak Spanish / Portuguese. With that I’d say aim for Spain or Portugal. Try to find a university, work or path of education you could do. There might be a network for trans people in Spain or Portugal who are willing to help with relocation. It could also be possible to apply for asylum due to the danger of your home country.

If Spanish isn’t an option most if not any European country will be able to help you out in English. UK is an obvious choice but atm they have their own problems around trans rights so I would at most use them as a temporary shelter before moving to a different EU country like Germany or Norway. Ireland is potentially also very good, as a stepping stone.

There is the trans network in the Netherlands they might have some resources for you.

  • Thanks, maybe I should steal your doctor :P she seems great. I will see if I can bully the clinic into just signing off the papers or if I can get evaluated elsewhere and then make them take over my existing treatment. My second citizenship has to be good for something.

The way to the clinic was kinda alright all in all 4 meetings and a telephone call over 2 months. But now the wait for the actual assessment is madness.
