Yeah any household below 100k a year is still working poor. At least in Ontario 200k+ is about the lowest where you can feasible get a mortgage and eventually own your house. I don’t know how different it is elsewhere in Canada though, Ontario is definitely one of the more expensive provinces to live in.

Yeah that sounds right on. That’s very common attitude/outlook with Finnish men at least. Not sure if the ladies are different or if my sample size just isn’t large enough, but the women I know are more open.

As someone who grew up in Finland, I get what they mean. Finns only bitch about things to their inner friend circle (very small circle usually), anyone outside that gets maybe a sarcastic everything’s great, especially that thing that’s really pissing me off right now kind of response. At the same time pretty much everyone gets treated generally fine and there is great support available for anyone, so it checks out those markers I assume this happiness quiz thing looks for. Why this feels weird for Finns though, is that there’s also some widespread deep depression in Finnish culture. From my viewpoint as someone who hasn’t lived in Finland for a long time now, I think unlike most other places the source of the depression isn’t the system grinding you down, it’s more internal than that. Maybe just dealing with the elements and trying to figure out what you want do with your life kind of shit.
I’m convinced Finns have just found a way to troll this somehow. Not that Finland isn’t great and all, but it just makes more sense.

Not really no. There is good Canadian stuff out there depending what you’re looking for and where in Canada you are. Lot no. 40 makes good rye that’s available pretty much everywhere, the Single Copper Pot Still and the Dark Oak are both good. Tons of smaller distilliries doing good stuff as well, but a lot of those might be hard to get depenging where you are.
I expect this to go just as well as for the US states that implemented similar laws. So basically anyone in the UK is blocked access and will just have to use a VPN for porn. Any kind of recording of IDs is obviously a huge security risk for everyone involved, and it doesn’t really make sense for porn sites to open themselves for that.

Yeah my youngest kid was on the middle of her second school year when the lockdown started. She was so anxious around people when in person school started again. She’s gotten somewhat better in the past couple years, but still not quite the same.
You going sometime soon? Around December the temps tend to plunge and Jan-Feb can be really cold, somewhere around -40C, potentially with some wind and blowing snow making it feel even colder. Highly recommend good outside set, with winter boots, gloves and the rest of clothing meant for that sort of weather, especially if you expect you would need to be outside for a while. I like the overall type pants and winter rubber boots big enough to fit wool socks in myself. :P Might be difficult to buy good quality stuff if you live somewhere much warmer. Probably worth asking whoever is hosting you for some help there. They might even have extra sets available already. Houses up there are typically very warm, so nothing special needed for inside use. Otherwise maybe a camera that is good in low light if you like to take pictures. Should get some good northern lights and stuff if you’re up there a whole month.

To be fair most indigenous people probably do not care too much about abbreviations, they likely have more pressing problems in their life :/
And to be clear, anything that recognized the shit indigenous poeple have gone through and is at least attempting to make a net positive for them is good.
