I remember using Notepad for a long time for coding in Windows. Then I was introduced to UltraEdit. It was cool, but expensive. Jumped onto NotePad++ and I’ve been enjoying it lots.
I do also use IDEs, usually Codium based.

I have sensitive skin, and I find some of Green Beavers’ scents bother me. They do have softer scents, though. Unfortunately, the way their deodorant cakes under my arms makes me itchy after a while.
Your milage may vary. Stupidly enough, the Natural brand deodorant (US, more expensive) really work well and don’t bother my underarms.
Check the formulas to see if there’s something in Beaver that you might not react well with.
I am currently using a Japanese roll-on by the brand Gatsby. Unscented, alcohol cooling with a touch of menthol. Feels refreshing for warm days.
Don’t forget to test for lizards.
…Melatonin is a prescription drug???
Wow, not that way in Canada. I cans buy “organic” melatonin here in dozens of different formats… pills, gummies… Oops.
Second this.
Thrift shops or flea markets where people are selling older stuff. I’m sure you can find a nice cast-iron kettle or something older that fits thr bill.
…not sure about the good, but sometimes Canadian Tire sells stuff…
To a degree, of course… not going to blow my whole paycheck on switching without research first.
I’ve been building my own PHP and JavaScript libraries without actually using any existing open-source ones.
Self-taught, didn’t learn about the fun stuff until recently.
Now I’m so far behind in technology, I feel outdated.
For those who I’ve in Quebec, it’s been standard practice to put a Fleur de Lys symbol next to the price on local products (both online and in stores).
It was a massive push from the government from around pre-COVID, and there was even rebates for Quebec companies who needed an online presence. I made a lot of websites for these companies, even helped build some websites helping promote this.
I believe Metro and Super C also actively push local products.
Good old ASCII art!
Used to love drawing these for BBS’s.
Then throw in some ANSI colors… Mmmm! Good times.
I suspect it’s like eating your fingernails or hair.
But, tactical dot!
Good grief. I would have loved those.
I totally mistyped it. It’s Café Morgane. My stupid key oars thought I meant to say cage.
Guess i got a blackout bingo on this one. Oof.
I’m fortunate to live in Quebec, where Cafe Morgane exists. It’s a great Starbucks alternative. Same range of products, locally sourced. Admittedly, their lack of decent Frappuccino’s sucks.
Underrated joke.
I never knew about this until my non-programming partner asked what I thought about them.
I’ve gotten it once or twice. Definitely from lack of hydration. Stay hydrated, people!
