  • These are the issues one can expect when one is dependent on foreign country companies for any services, it comes with their world view. Similar if you would be using services from other countries that are interested in how their image is seen from the other side.

I personally don’t mind they can name things to what ever they want, but you as a user should always be aware of who is the owner of the platform and it’s indirect message. I do not call Germany, Deutschland or will also have an issue with Macedonia in Greece or Nepal in China.

It is just a petty thing to do that makes that orange mandarin look like a person with huge issues that many of us left at the age of 10.

  • Great, I say, with kids in middle school, here in Sweden. Problem has not been the hardware,

Partly software, due to it is shit “it must be cheap”. Example, where I failed the test, the word training software provided me with the word for “Farfar” which is specific for dads father in Swedish, I wrote grandfather…“wrong” it is grandad… Ok let’s try again…Granddad…“wrong” it shall be “grandad” No development. It is as dumb as 1998 bash code…

But first and foremost… The process, the school organisation does not have a single way of communicating to the kids, in our school, each teacher used different platforms to communicate to the kids ie teams, WhatsApp mail etc. They did not understand or like the provided software they should use etc.computer system knowledge is at a very low level. I blame the organism behind the main keyboard, most teachers does not have the right competency to teach with the tool at hand.

You have a beautiful tool that can hold worlds knowledge, but it means shit when the mentor does not know or even refuse to embrace the the tool and develop how to use, it then it does not help.

It like taking driving lessons from a persons that has only handled a horse.

  • These are private companies that are govern and controlled by commercial incentives. And are in their all right to do so. The users are always free to change service.

But as always, conviniance beats everything. Most people don’t care or are not ready to go back. E.g. use mp3s and manually upload files to choosen device or if even supported. aux contact that was removed. Music and movie resolution loss due to streaming most people don’t care… They are frustrated when the airpod doesn’t work with Android device accept the situation and go along with their lives. Most western people download their games and do not think for a second that all games are useless when an new device is announced and the company can resell same game again even thought if thought from design to be back compatible.

Censorship are applicable for governments enforcing laws and regulations that impact what you are allowed to do or say which in many parts of the world unconstitutional. If people even put an ounce of energy to complain on their governmentns that they do on companies we would live in a better world.

  • Without detailed knowledge about tree logging, that looks to be too clean cut, when working in a storm.

    From the article:

“Locals said they heard nothing during the night due to high winds from Storm Agnes – and woke to find the tree split from its stump.”

I would not call that a “split”.

You also need some heavy gear to fell that kind of tree, the dia of sycamore tree trunk is wide. The blade would stuck in the saw line due to the inclination of the tree. Also you would need a vehicle to get all gear there plus extra fuel if required.

Think middle of night, during a storm, also you don’t need a storm to be windy there.

    Really 16 year old only?
