He got community-noted for being wrong. Per usual, it’s only a matter of time before he deletes his post.
Being an expat still comes with tax obligations to the US, no matter where you live in the world. I moved to Germany but I still have to file US taxes every year unless I renounce my US citizenship someday. That’s one the most notable downsides that I can think of.
I hate the “household income” statistic for this exact reason. It obfuscates the number of people working. Not just both parents but also adult children living with their parents and working.
If you look at Canada’s single income household data from 2000 to 2020, the average income for males went from $30k to $34k CAD and females were roughly $17k to $25k. I would bet the US wages went up by a similar amount.
“Official capacity” has not been defined yet so we don’t know what the limits are. We will have to wait and see.
Force inside a cylinder vessel is just pressure times surface area. If you have the same pressure(soda carbonation) with more surface area, then you are putting less force on the walls. I don’t have any specialty in the materials engineering for canning, but i suppose less force on the walls means you could use thinner materials. However, soda can walls are already pretty thin to start with and from what I can find online, the tops are usually 2.5-3 times thicker. So, I could see it potentially cutting some cost from the tops by making them thinner but i doubt they are manufacturing different tops. It’s probably just marketing.
In the grand scheme of things, it’s not using much more. And if the prices are correct in OP, the markup on the new can is way higher than any extra cost they are incurring from additional raw materials. They probably had some marketing study show that a taller looking can makes consumer’s less angry about a price increase or some other crazy nonsense.
Ignore things like the bevel, wall thickness, etc. Just calculating for a basic right cylinder, you can see how the surface area changes for different heights with a constant volume. I’ve outlined the standard dimensions of a can(inches).

You could try some bone conducting head phones. I’ve been wearing the Shokz brand OpenRun headband all day at work for about 5 months now and it’s comfy. I use them in bed sometimes but don’t fall asleep in them. They have some new wrap around ear ones that might be comfier to sleep in.
Edit: A full charge will last all day and they recharge quickly.

I use it for helping me learn German but only for explaining things like grammatical rules, concepts, or word uses.
Do not ask it to translate or write something for you. It will make lots of grammatical mistakes. I find that it often misgenders or uses the wrong case for nouns in a sentence.
