Watching Roku steadily decline from a trusted brand has been something. For a time, they were the alternative to the other bigger more Ad driven companies. I’ve owned 2 and used to enjoy them overall. Now, they’ve slowly become just as bad or worse than their competitors in some regards. When history looks back on streaming boxes as a failed delivery method, Roku might just get to be the example in the forefront.

I already have been called evil for simply not having any empathy toward this man. Apparently there are some that believe even the worst people deserve empathy despite being shown time and time again they don’t care about the sick and dying over making a profit. I never advocated for violence or murder, I never cheered or claimed more should die. But I’m the evil one for not caring about this guy somehow. I honestly don’t know if humanity has a chance with all of this corporate dick sucking.

My favorite fun fact of this story is that the HMS Resolute also became trapped in the ice searching for Franklin’s lost expedition. After it was recovered, the timbers from the HMS Resolute were then used to create the resolute desk that was gifted to the U.S. and now sits in the Oval Office.

I remember these days. Cable felt really special. Then the ads, and every channel became reality TV and less about what the channels original purpose was. TLC is all trash TV, History is all ancient aliens and conspiracy theories now. YouTube sorta has brought that back, but for me the premium subscription is too expensive. I have a subscription to Nebula where a lot of YT creators have channels and it costs far more reasonable.

Universal Healthcare was a losing platform because it was vilified as being “communism”. It also didn’t sit well with wealthy donors and rich democrats. It also wasn’t part of Biden’s agenda. Obamacare was.

Meta has the biggest platforms in the world that most people use. Not a big surprise, really. I have an Instagram, as much as I want to only use FOSS social media, I have friends there that will not move elsewhere.

I hear what you’re saying, but any progress on universal healthcare has been at a standstill forever. Although it feels slow, it’s the right direction and might just be the way it needs to happen with all the corporate interests and red tape in the massively profitable healthcare industry.

So I don’t necessarily see it as a standstill, but baby steps.
