  • I have been home brewing for a few years and looked it up out of curiosity. Fucking hell the taxes and regulations are oppressive if I wanted to try selling anything. Then there is distilling that I would probably not even be given permission to do and the vast majority of the cost of your end product is gone to alcohol tax and VAT.

Also all the ingredients I use? Illegal if I wanted to sell any product made with foraged berries. So I couldn’t even sell jam.

I was thinking more of a side business than full time. Possibly a semi retirement option if I pay off the mortgage in several decades.

  • It doesn’t have to by killing people violence though. But just going on a parade isn’t doing anything on it’s own.

It could work to show how much support a movement has, but you need something to follow up if demands are not met and you actually want something to change.

A strike or blockade isn’t violent. Non violent also doesn’t mean legal. See how many non violent terrorist pensioners the UK is locking up.

  • Aren’t US ebike regulations super generous, like to the point its pretty much just an electric equivalent to a 50cc bike with pedals on it.

Ours are so restricted I don’t even see the point of a legal one outside of disabled or elderly users. Once I am up to speed I usually cycle at just under 30kmh which is above the speed limit for pedal assist ebikes, IIRC most of Europe has that sort of limit. If there are a lot of stop/starts then maybe it could be more useful, but I tend to avoid roads like that in the first place.
