I loved my Pixel 6. It stopped working earlier this year and I bought a refurbished 8 pro, which is also great, but I would have used my 6 forever.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is a specific part of a video game that made you quit playing that game?
2·21 days agoFinal Fantasy XV spoilers:
I stopped playing Final Fantasy XV after watching Noctis’s beautiful cool fiancée die, only for all of his bros to tell him to man up and get over it, and then those same guys got mad at me when one of the bros was blind and couldn’t keep up when I ran somewhere in the next area. Fuck the misogyny of that whole situation. Haven’t played it again in the ten years since that happened.

17·1 month agoThe BC libs collapsed, tried to rebrand, and ultimately dissolved shortly before the last provincial election. Most of the current conservative MLAs are the old liberal MLAs. Unless one of them revives the party, I think there’s nowhere for them to go other than, like, the OneBC party.

111·1 month agoThe steps you’ve detailed are exactly why people who live in the country successfully do. I grew up on a farm 25 or so km from the nearest town and we planned everything. It was entirely fine to go into town once every week or two to get everything we needed, and to the city once per year to get major needs like clothing or appliances. You have to learn to live without getting things instantly or on a whim, but if you’re able to do that it can be very rewarding.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Canadians have a historic opportunity to punch Microsoft in the face
4·2 months agoAgreed. My workplace is practically drowning in Microsoft apps and our IT department has actually- where I’ve been able to see it happen- asked copilot for answers to incredibly basic things. None of them are going to be interested in thinking about switching. And despite all the talk about retaliation, I have zero faith in our country making any material change. They’re simply too enamoured with US corporations.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Finally done with the distro-hop: My return to Fedora

I don’t know what you’re on about, here’s a result from literally ten seconds of research. https://english.visitbeijing.com.cn/article/47ONeA8fVMY
I started with Debian and the spiciest thing I’ve done in almost two years of exclusive Linux usage was changing my desktop environment from Cinnamon to KDE while updating to Debian 13. I haven’t seen a need to hop around to other distros, it’s nice to search for the few problems and almost always find answers.
Exactly this. I’ve been running forums since I was a teen in the mid-00s and I’ve still got one. It’s much smaller than it used to be, but some of us have known each other for twenty years. It’s harder to find us, but occasionally someone still wanders in.

11·9 months agoThe only documentary I’ve ever watched that genuinely changed my outlook on something. I was heavy into the critical side of critical support for the DPRK until I watched this documentary some years ago, which made me realise how much deprogramming I still needed, despite having been a leftist for years.
I’ve recommended it and shared it in so many situations since first watching. I can’t praise it enough.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Does anyone else hate how everyone is trying to make money all the time?
3·9 months agoI had a youtube channel for a few years in the early 2010s and had the same experience. I got extremely uncomfortable once people started giving me free game keys and started requesting ad reads. I ghosted my channel and eventually deleted it, but now I wish I had made a final video or something talking about the experience and why I didn’t want to participate anymore.
I fully switched to Debian in early 2024 and haven’t looked back. Highly recommend a full swap to everyone. Windows and Mac have nothing to offer.

It happens. I fell in love with the main story of Persona 5 (though I fell off of it as soon as the Royal content picked up) but I’ve also tried out P3, SMT5, and Metaphor, and I got bored quickly with all of them.
