No thanks, I’d get a steam deck instead.
Star Trek, I’m going to Risa!!
So many awful takes on this topic in the comments lol. “Don’t follow your passions” is just bs because they’re really just saying “suffer through this major and you’ll get to suffer through a career for the rest of your life.”
The truth is that your major doesn’t really matter. What hiring managers look for is mostly that you have a degree, and the major comes second.
I was told for YEARS that “humanities isn’t worth it” and that computer science/engineering/STEM is the only thing worth it. But guess what? Massive layoffs due to AI is killing computer science and STEM grads. Businesses are putting postings out there but aren’t currently hiring to maintain normalcy, etc.
For a bachelor’s, just do what you want! Look at the financial aid for each school and go from there. A lot of people struggle and burn out studying something they hate and sometimes end up dropping out. It’s better for everyone to educate yourself on something you’re passionate about, then do a master’s if you need a career change.
“Multiple women have said that the men they know might have done a “bêtise” but didn’t commit rape. In French, a “bêtise” roughly translates to “something stupid.” It’s a word that parents use to scold children for doing silly things, or that a couple might invoke while bickering.”
Honestly, I think Biden supports this unwaveringly because it aligns with US policy to keep the region destabilized.
I mean they helped overthrow the Shah, aided the Taliban in fighting the soviets, invaded Iraq and Kuwait (which led directly to the creation of jihadist state – ISIS), aided a US-aligned faction in the Syrian civil war, helped put down the 2011 democratic revolutions… there is so much more.
And for what? To keep them from realizing they are all arabs and are sitting on the largest collective reserves of oil in the world…
Evil Empire.
Have you checked out Protondb.com ?
It’s been a lifesaver gaming wise. Nice to know most games do and can run on linux, it’s usually the ones with some sort of online anti-cheat that don’t run.
In what way does capitalism “dampen” selfishness?
Just get a PC? Parts prices are low right now and they are far more useful than a console that has a “planned expiration” every 5-10 years.
But it’s also hard to know what contemporary economists are arguing without reading those foundational writers
I’ll share what a Harvard professor and copyright lawyer sent me in an email:
I write with a gloomy update for the Hachette v. Internet Archive appeal in the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals: The court affirmed the lower court’s decision about CDL, and ruled that Internet Archive’s Open Libraires program was NOT a fair use.
One shining moment though, was that the court ruled that a “Donate Now” button does not indicate “commercial use” for purposes of the fair use argument. (Phew!)
There is more to unpack here, but we will be hosting a series of CFR talks in the coming weeks to discuss the decision and it’s implications.
Or giant megacorporations each hire 200,000+ of them to create products for the non-magic folk to consume.
After a few decades, the idea of being a wizard is synonymous with working 8+ hours a day on magic that no wizard really wants and there is so little new spells and magic being created in the world that everyone wishes there wasn’t any.
Then leaks come out that the products these megacorporations create have been slowly killing the planet and they’ve known for decades. But since they have so much power and money, nothing can stop them until the world dies.
I disagree. Trump surviving the asassination gave him a huge publicly. It should also be mentioned that Biden resigned shortly after, so this event really shook up the overall trajectory of the election.
Nationalize it ftw
Why is the US concerned? Oil companies pleaded for the US to intervene when Venezuela nationalized their economy. Then Venezuela nationalized many other sectors, and the US got morw angry.
One by Metallica intensifies
Another idea:
Make the entire food sector non-profit.
Japan has outsourced a lot of manufacturing and labor to Vietnam as well. Considering Japan is one of the biggest economies currently, why are they not mentioned as another possible choice?
