I think I fucking broke them to their core. The entire premise offered by Trump is that the ‘right’ kind of people would benefit. But fucking NO ONE IN AMERICA WHO WORKS FOR A LIVING HAS BENEFITED. Then I pressed on how they thought tariffs would help them (two retired old guys, 2 guys my age that did union work and factory type work). You guys gonna have layoffs because the price of the things you rely on to do your job are about to go up considerably?

I’m not trying to offend people, and I’m not trying to get banned or test the rules of Lemmy, but you have to understand American male mentality. The men that act the toughest and most aggressive, do so out of fear of ritucule for not being ‘man’ enough, and Trump is the epitomy of that mentality.

That is the failure of left wing politics, they want to be inclusive and respectful of everyone… But sometimes to defeat your enemy, you must do something that upsets an ally. A wise ally understands that, and allows it to happen for the greater good.

I don’t believe in state performed executions. But I also realize that when treason has been committed to this extent, the only options are state sponsored execution, or mob justice, and the former is much more likely to prevent wide spread violence.
